Job DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is seeking qualified candidates who are highly motivated for a challenging and fulfilling career as a Geriatric Psychiatrist. The role involves providing geriatric and general psychiatry services, including outpatient clinics, inpatient ward management, and on-call psychiatric consultation duties. As SGH is an academic medical centre, candidates may also participate in research and teaching.
The responsibilities include evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with cognitive and geriatric mental health issues, such as dementia, mild cognitive impairment, mood and anxiety disorders, and delirium. Candidates should have experience in acute psychiatric care, be capable of supervising junior doctors, and collaborate with allied health professionals in a multidisciplinary team.
Job Requirements- Basic medical degree with relevant postgraduate qualifications recognized by the Singapore Medical Council (e.g., MRCPsych, FRANZCP)
- Completed specialty training (i.e., obtained CCT or equivalent), and eligible for accreditation as a Psychiatry Specialist in Singapore
- At least 2 to 3 years of post-specialist registration experience as a Geriatric Psychiatrist, providing clinical care for patients with cognitive and mental health issues
