Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support in process engineering to facilitate production operations.
  2. Advise, support and carry out machine acceptance tests, qualification, and validation of production processes and equipment.
  3. Lead or participate in the investigation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for various production events and equipment failures; ensure that all relevant CAPAs are completed timely.
  4. Ensure adequate preventive & predictive maintenance to reduce equipment failures while maintaining quality and productivity; ensure adequate spare part inventory to meet the critical maintenance requirement.
  5. Work with and supervise vendors/contractors to ensure installation, repairs, or maintenance works are carried out timely and with minimal disruption to operations.
  6. Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, ISO standards, EHS standards, and other relevant policies/standards.
  7. Ensure workplace safety and be responsible for notifying Management in a timely manner of EHS/GMP deficiencies.
  8. Support plant automation, Industry 4.0, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
  9. Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Tertiary education in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum 3 years of related experience as a manufacturing process engineer in a Cosmetic, Food, or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment.
  3. Well versed in GMP.
  4. Good experience in automation and Industry 4.0 plant will be useful for work.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Systematic and able to work under pressure.
  7. Excellent analytical and good engineering problem-solving skills, workload resource planning, and prioritization skills.
  8. An independent self-starter and a strong team player.

As a Technician, Production Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the on-shift Production Maintenance Team. This role also involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing product contact equipment to ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and productivity standards, in alignment with Alcon's guidelines for an effective equipment maintenance program.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Govern the in-house escalation process for on-shift mechanical activities to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Own and guide spare parts requirements for primary equipment areas (Compounding, Filling, Packaging) . Apply the bathtub curve reliability model to assess early, constant, and wear-out failures, aligning spare parts stock levels with preventive maintenance (PM) effectiveness.
  • Assist in daily production support tasks such as Filling machine and Packaging machine format changes, applying SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) best practices to meet product quality and output goals.
  • Comply strictly with GMP and GDP requirements, including adherence to SOPs, PMs, and CMs. Promptly report any discrepancies or deviations.
  • Provide clear technical guidance, both verbal and written, in support of Documented Corrective Trends (DCTs) and Non-Conformance Investigations (NCIs). Ensure timely completion of corrective actions and CAPAs.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for personal and team compliance with all safety protocols, while identifying and driving safety improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain 5S initiatives and support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects using system trend analysis where applicable.
  • Be available and willing to work overtime as needed. This role operates on a rotating three-shift pattern
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders (e.g., Compounding, Filling, Packaging, HSE) to ensure quality maintenance services are delivered.
  • Provide clear verbal updates during shift handovers, tier meetings, and maintain accountabilities for all on-shift mechanical activities, including equipment downtime.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervision.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Higher Nitec, Nitec, or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical processing, particularly in equipment maintenance. Experience in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and calibration will be advantageous.
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Responsible for the providing Operations input into weekly Maintenance plan
  • Review backlog and priorities with maintenance scheduler to reduce backlog
  • Responsible for the coordination and support of Maintenance related activities in close coordination with Operations team and Maintenance department
  • Responsible for the approval of the Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) and Blinding plans
  • Responsible as the main Operations representative/ contact person for between Maintenance and Operations in relation to maintenance activities

  • Responsible for the approval of the Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) and Blinding plans
  • Responsible as the main Operations representative/ contact person for between Maintenance and Operations in relation tomaintenance activities
  • Responsible for the coordination and guiding to Operations shift teams for the preparation required/ necessary in order fortimely handover of equipment to Maintenance for smooth carrying out of maintenance activities (including requirement forsafety interlock bypass for equipment preparation)
  • Responsible for the coordination and input of maintenance work requests to the Turnaround/ Unit Shutdown (TA/USD) team
  • Responsible for Ready for Start-up (RFSU) process for maintenance related activities
  • Responsible for the guidance and provision of necessary information to Maintenance department for the smooth andeffective execution of maintenance activities
  • Responsible for insuring executed maintenance activity according fault report is satisfying
  • Responsible for the continual improvement of the process workflow related to Maintenance activities
  • Support the development and update of Maintenance related TRA’s and PHA’s

Keys to success in this role

  • Minimum Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years in petrochemical or oil refinery (industry) and in Operations/ Maintenance related positions
  • Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset

Production Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Operations Day Supervisor and is responsible for the safe, smooth and reliable execution of maintenance activities of Neste Singapore's integrated renewable product refinery complex

Your role in our team

  • Responsible for the smooth, safe and reliable execution of the agreed Maintenance plan
  • Responsible for the screening of work orders raised and appropriate prioritisation and planning of the maintenance work requests (corrective, preventive) generated
  • Responsible for ensuring planned work can be handled by Operations shift teams
  • Responsible for participate at Daily Coordination Meeting (DCM) to ensure proper handover of maintenance requests to Maintenance department.
  • Responsible for the follow-up and coordination for the activities and any changes from the weekly/ daily plan with the Operations Day Team, Operations shift teams to ensure smooth execution of related work
  • Responsible for the providing Operations input into weekly Maintenance plan
  • Review backlog and priorities with maintenance scheduler to reduce backlog
  • Responsible for the coordination and support of Maintenance related activities in close coordination with Operations team and Maintenance department
