We’re currently looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Product Strategy Manager in Singapore or Hong Kong office.
The Regional Product Strategy team partners across the organization to deliver competitive investment solutions and compelling insights that meet our clients’ investment needs. The team identifies market trends, opportunities and challenges, recommends product strategy, spearheads and develops new product solutions and pricing, enhance existing product suite for both asset retention and attraction of new flows, and offers product expertise combining investment and market insight.
The Product Strategy Manager will work to ensure that the organization excels in providing competitive and innovative product solutions that meet the changing needs of our investors by thorough research and product development efforts across retail, wealth and institutional channels. The role supports across Asia Pacific business channels in determining product gaps, researching and analyzing new and innovative product ideas, pricing strategies, product positioning and support regional product related initiatives in Asia Pacific.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
- Evaluate market, regulatory, competitors and investment trends to determine potential implications for Franklin Templeton product ranges. Identify and recommend product opportunities within the Asia Pacific and offshore markets, including new, innovative product ideas, changes to existing products, and potential products for merger/closure
- Conduct independent data analysis to identify forward looking trends to solve for evolving clients’ investment needs in Asia
- Research market competitiveness and pricing for different investment solutions and client segments in the region
- Identify gaps within existing product range and develop innovative product proposals to capitalize on investment trends and changing client needs. Determine product attributes and key features, and establish competitive fee structure for new products
- Develop actionable strategy to introduce innovative product offerings across the firm’s investment capabilities, drive client acquisition, retention and competitive positioning
- Develop product proposals and ascertain feedback to determine product attributes, key features (investment goal and strategy, positioning in the market, pricing, etc.) for both local domiciled and cross-border funds
- Develop and present business cases (recommend new product ideas, potential changes to existing products, including product mergers/ closures) to internal stakeholders and global product committee
- Lead and take accountability of product initiatives and drive to completion
- Support the Asia regional business by providing consultative and direct assistance to product-related inquiries
- Solicit feedback from distribution partners on the proposed product ideas and changes
- Prepare and participate in industry discussions and events.
- Develop and deliver presentations and training materials for internal and external audiences; articulate appropriate competitive positioning for new and existing products within local markets and sales channels
- Support the gathering and retention of assets under management by working closely with the investment teams and sales professionals across all distribution channels
- Assists in communicating information on product development lifecycle to internal stakeholders across business functions
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
- Strong knowledge of distribution channel expertise and client segment knowledge, expertise across multiple channels (e.g. retail, wealth and institutional in Asia)
- 8 - 12 years of product initiation or development experience with a financial institution, consulting organization, pension fund, endowment or foundation
- Comprehensive understanding of Asia Pacific industry & regulatory developments, market and product trends
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and other office products required
- Knowledge of data sources for performance, flows and relevant industry competitive information (Morningstar, Broadridge, Lipper, Bloomberg, MPI, eVestment)
- Self-driven with positive attitude and a team player
- Experience working with cross-functional and multi-channel team
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Written and verbal skills in Mandarin language has added advantage due to regional coverage
- CFA (or working toward completion) is preferred
- BA or BS in Finance or Economics desired

Position Summary : We’re looking for a “Senior Manager, Product Strategy” who will be a member of the Internal Developer Platform Product Management team within our Product division in Chennai . The main focus of this role will be to drive strategy and business outcomes to support our initiatives to improve the experience of athenahealth’s R&D organization.
The Senior Manager, Product Strategy will be accountable for influencing and executing against our R&D experience and productivity initiatives. You will spend significant time with our internal customers, understanding and responding to industry trends then using that data to build a strategy and product roadmap.The individual will play an influential role in shaping the tooling, people, and processes that enable athenahealth to deliver impactful features to our external customers.
The industry landscape is changing rapidly, and you will be successful by evaluating the opportunities of that landscape and executing to benefit our business. This person will be highly influential around evolving athena’s R&D culture, cadence, process, tooling, talent, and team composition to ensure athena can deliver great products to our customers as quickly as possible. You have experience managing cross-functional programs and know how to drive execution across a large set of internal stakeholders that are organizationally outside of your authority. You are comfortable managing multiple major business priorities. You are adept at influencing people within and outside of the organization. This role will focus on driving the utilization of AI tooling across the product lifecycle and will be critical in evolving our R&D operations as part of an AI software development lifecycle (AI-DLC). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product strategy, AI technologies, and software development processes. Key customers of this role will include Product Management, Analytics, UX, Operations and Development.
This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in athenahealth’s Chennai, India office one day a week .
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze user, business, and partner activity to identify opportunities in our products.
- Develop product strategy in the form of use cases, technology use, integrations, and resources required to act on our objectives.
- Develop business cases alongside our financial planning and analysis team to evaluate our strategy against our bottom line.
- Manage cross-functional program with product teams across the company to prioritize and ensure implementations.
- Partner with product leaders and high-level executives to influence their product strategy and shape the vision of athenahealth products, based on a deep understanding of market trends mapped to athenahealth’s product’s strengths and opportunities and those of our competitors.
- R&D Productivity Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance R&D productivity through the effective utilization of AI tools and technologies throughout the product lifecycle.
- AI Tooling Integration: Identify, evaluate, and integrate AI tooling solutions that can streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality within R&D.
- Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and optimize the AI software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, ensuring that AI initiatives meet the needs of the organization. This will include driving experimentation and collaboration across the broader R&D organization.
- Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of AI tooling on R&D productivity and report on progress to senior leadership.
- Change Management: Lead change management efforts to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within R&D, ensuring that teams are equipped to leverage AI technologies effectively.
- Training and Development: Design and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities in utilizing AI tools and methodologies, promoting a data-driven approach to product development.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in product strategy, R&D management, or related roles, with a focus on AI technologies and software development processes.
