Objectives of the position:

Responsible for the management of product development projects for LAPP connectivity solutions with experience in cables and connectors for power, signal and data primarily for ASEAN, Australia/New Zealand, Taiwan and other APAC countries (no own development projects, but management / coordination and handling of traded goods). Person who understands the cable and connector designs and cable connectivity requirements. The person should also have experience with active components products for industry and building automation.

• Coordinate with APAC product development teams for appropriate allocation of product/projects and in alignment with product cluster management with respect to new product specification & designs for different product applications and requirements.
• Ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective implementation of product/projects development in close collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
• Tap into external brains (scientific and industrial partners) via development of LAPP relationship with centers of excellence (ex. NYP in Singapore) and the organisation of idea generation events (e.g. Hackathons).
• Develop LAPP Exploration center / Demo kits in APAC in coordiation with product management and sales.
• Support the expansion of Lapp Singapore laboratory with the mission of testing supplier products (control & data cables) as part of global laboratory network.

Tasks in Detail:

Leadership & Organization:

• Technical guidance / support of the series development teams in APAC, including regular feedback and development discussions.
• Planning of resources and budgets for development projects.
• Continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• Planning and management of development budgets with approval of CTO.

Product Development:

• Manage and execute development projects from concept to series production via stage gate process {for instance own the technical data sheet (TDS) and coordinate Initial sample inspection report (ISIR) for product release in collaboration with quality and product management}
• Ensure compliance with quality, cost, and timeline targets.
• Manage the product technical aspects/ product specification to fulfil the product requirements defined by product management to fulfil the customer needs and achieve the business’ short- and long-term goals.
• Responsible for technical data sheets(TDS) for customised products (SPP) to support procurement team.
• Responsible for technical coordination with product owner/product management, procurement and quality for adoption projects with supplier (APAC factories / vendors).
• Responsible for product development activities at CWI including each laboratory competency development and control of raw material for ISIR issued in coordination with quality.
• Focus to grow the products in collaboration with product management for key focus segments
• Work with global team on various technical topics as per organisational requirements

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Close cooperation with product management, procurement, production, and quality assurance.
• Coordination with internal and external suppliers and laboratories as well as national and international subsidiaries
• Contribute to global engineering team under global R&D on various technical topics

Strategy & Innovation:

• Contribution to the definition of product strategy and roadmap.
• Evaluation of new technologies and market trends relevant to series development.
• Representation of Lapp interests in standardization committees as well as development and implementation of new certifications and approvals
• Support in industrialization and market launch of new products.
• Acquisition of relevant intellectual property rights as well as monitoring and assessment of relevant patent specifications

Documentation & Reporting:

• Preparation of technical documentation and decision papers for standard and special products as per LAPP Corporate Directive
• Regular reporting to senior management.

Qualification

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or industrial engineering.
• Several years of professional experience in series development of technical products, ideally in the field of connectivity technology.
• Computer literate and knowledge of word, excel and powerpoint
• High affinity for solving technical problems using state-of-the-art simulation and calculation methods as well as a wide variety of measurement techniques
• Indepth knowledge of compitition landscape across industry in connectivity solutions.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in leading a technical product team
• Experience in carrying out complex technical projects in interdisciplinary teams
• Experience in cable testing and approval procedures

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Product Development , you will be reporting to the Director. Your principal duties include but are not limited to the following:

· Maintain organized sales records and report month-end goal-setting to the senior management team.

· Support management by completing orders and keeping customers informed of delays and delivery dates

· Ensuring the adequacy of sales-related equipment or material

· Responding to complaints from customers and giving after-sales support when requested

· Handle the processing of all orders with accuracy and timeliness

· Establish the planning process for the company by converting the Sales forecast into a feasible

manufacturing plan;

· Oversee preparation and timely release of raw materials to production to meet production orders. Track usage of raw materials to production;

· Prepare monthly reports on the performance of production and highlight issues and bottlenecks that may potentially impact the achievement of the production schedule and customer satisfaction;

· Preparation of various monthly reports for Management (Sale & Purchase Invoice Summary, Sales & Sales Profit Report, Sale by Segment Sale Report, Unit Price Calculation, Bi-yearly Sales Budget Report, etc.)

· Ad hoc duties as assigned by management.

· Has good time management skills

· Good understanding of manufacturing process, and reasonable expectations as to what can be accomplished within a certain timeframe

Requirements

· 2 - 5 years of sales experience in a recent relevant manufacturing environment is preferred

Maintain version control, templates, and documentation standards (taxonomy, naming, authoring guidelines).
Support onboarding and enablement: create training decks, run knowledge transfers, and contribute to the knowledge base.
Improve documentation processes: automate builds, reuse content, and integrate docs with CI/CD where applicable.
Assist with regulatory/certification paperwork (PCI/EMV/EMVCo) where required.
Must have
2–4 years
technical writing or engineering experience in payments, fintech, or hardware/software integrations.
Practical knowledge of POS/terminal ecosystems (POS, SoftPOS, EMV, QR payments) and ability to interpret device specs and block diagrams.
Strong technical writing skills in English and proven ability to simplify complex topics.
Experience with at least one documentation tool: Confluence, Markdown, DITA, or similar.
Comfortable reading engineering diagrams and creating step-by-step integration guides.
Nice to have
Experience with PCI DSS / EMVCo certification documentation.
Familiarity with Android system integration and payment app deployment.
