As an engineer in the Product Engineering organization at Marvell, you will be part of a brilliant growing team of engineers that solves complex problems. In this role, you will be working with our design, product & test development team in US and in APAC; supporting new product introduction projects & activities to ensure smooth transition of these new products from development to manufacturing phase.

• Support new product introduction initial phase of silicon bring up working with NPI Product Engineering team in the US to validate new device features and test/DFT methodologies.
• Collaborate with NPI PE, Test, Foundry and Reliability Engineering teams to drive NPI development of highspeed datacenter products and their variants.
• Analyze yield at Engineering Sample phase and Characterize NPI product performances and manufacturing yield window including bench correlation to meet product cost targets.
• Perform data mining and statistical data analysis on wafer sort and final test parametric to support initial product assessment.
• Support product assessment report generation.
• Perform functional testing and analysis to ensure product operation and reliability.
• Support & resolve Test engineering & program related issues.
• Support volume Engineering sample supply for early customer engagement.
• Plan and coordinate (data analysis, debug, root-cause, implementing solutions) yield & test time improvement activities to meet the set mass production release goals.

What We're Looking For

• B.S. in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• 0-1 years of experience in the semiconductor industry
• Good Knowledge of C, C++ programing language
• Hands-on knowledge on scripting languages such as VBA, Perl and Python is a plus
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and failure debugging skills
• High attention to detail while working under pressure
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Complete and accurate analysis of customer specifications, with emphasis on product parameters
• Ensure all requirements (product parameters, laser-mark, cassettes, labeling, CofC) are properly defined and documented
• Ensure all discrepancies or uncertainties are clarified with the customer via Application before acceptance
• Implement test methods, product control, and inspection plans to fulfill product requirements.
• Prepare official customer specification review letters
• Coordinate inputs from Applications and Process Engineers to propose products within production Fab capability
• Create manufacturing specifications in SAP
• Implement new revisions of existing product specifications
• Provide inputs to Product Setup team and management on new/changes in customer requirements to develop solutions
• Participate in strategies and activities with global Product Integration teams to satisfy the demands of global customers as well as to improve overall product configuration processes
• Work with Planners, Technology and Operations in cut-over to a new revision of running products

Requirements:

• Degree Electrical & Electronics / Materials Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years experiences in Semiconductor / Electronics manufacturing
• Hands-on in manufacturing systems, data management, and product lifecycle control
• Able to translate customer specs to production specs, NPI / NPD, Quality Assurance on the production feasibility
• Strong Analytical skills, data analysis/processing software, and SPC
• SAP knowledge is good to have
• Team player, organized, and self-motivated person

The SMT Product Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, introduction, and continuous improvement of products in the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) production environment. This role acts as a technical bridge between design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to high-volume production with a focus on quality, cost, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support for new product introduction (NPI) into SMT lines, including DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis and process validation.
• Review and interpret Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings to develop optimized SMT assembly processes.
• Collaborate with SMT programmers, process engineers, and production teams to develop robust, repeatable assembly procedures.
• Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements to enhance quality and reduce cost.
• Investigate and resolve product-related issues on the production floor, including yield loss, component placement errors, solder defects, etc.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for product-related quality issues.
• Support ECO (Engineering Change Orders) implementation and product configuration management.
• Document and update work instructions, process flows, and technical guidelines.
• Interface with design engineers, customers, and suppliers as needed to address technical concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in SMT manufacturing or product engineering.
• Strong understanding of SMT processes (screen printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI, etc.).
• Familiarity with electronic components, PCBA design principles, and assembly standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
• Proficient in using CAD software, Gerber viewers, and PCB analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with production troubleshooting and process improvements.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with high-reliability products (automotive, aerospace, medical devices, etc.).
• Familiarity with SPC, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Experience with MES/ERP systems and engineering documentation tools.
• IPC or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

• Develop and update Bill of Materials (BOM) structures to accommodate production and engineering modifications
• Administer and maintain systems like Shop Floor Control (SFC) and SAP for accurate process and material data
• Contribute to rack packaging design and enhancement to optimize assembly efficiency
