The Role
MENCK is seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist in Tuas South Avenue, Singapore. You will manage international and project-based procurement, negotiate with suppliers, place and track orders, and maintain strong vendor relationships. Collaborating with Engineering, Project Management, and Quality teams, you will support procurement planning, handle inquiries and complaints, and contribute to process improvements to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery across the supply chain.
Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure that the vision, values, and goals of the Marine Foundations segment are lived and implemented
Ensure efficient execution of all procurement activities
Procurement of services, components, assemblies, and systems across various mate-rial groups
Maintain all relevant purchasing data in the item card within the ERP system (Navision)
Process purchases, proposals and requisitions according to desired delivery dates
Maintain supplier records (in the systems)
Regularly track ongoing orders and communicate status updates to internal and exter-nal customers using company IT systems
Conduct price negotiations with suppliers
Follow up on order confirmations and ensure compliance
Handle complaints with supplier
Monitor correct invoices by suppliers
Requirements
Professional experience in operational purchasing with a strong technical under-standing
Minimum 7 years of professional experience in purchasing
Experience in international procurement markets
Ability to develop technical and commercial inquiry and tender specifications for relevant groups of materials
Technical understanding is mandatory (e.g. reading drawings, knowledge of var-ious manufacturing processes)
Sound knowledge of contract law
Extensive experience in dealing with ERP software solutions is an advantage (e.g. Navision)
Willingness to travel worldwide
Proven use of various negotiation techniques
Decisiveness and determination
Excellent communication and team skills
Experience in operational and strategic purchasing
