A Mechanical Engineer is required to design, develop and implement process mechanical systems in chemical plants, incineration plants, food waste plants, water/wastewater plants, offsites & utilities, pollution abatement etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review engineering standards/specifications/drawings, tender, quotations and proposal documents to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

• Design and develop preliminary and detailed process & mechanical designs for chemical plant, incineration plant, food waste plant, water/wastewater plant, offsites & utilities, pollution abatement etc. including mechanical specification, design calculation, equipment layout design, support design, etc.

• Collaborate with BIM team for 3D model development and ensure the model is according to design.

• Coordinate internal and external engineering activities and interdisciplinary interfaces to ensure project objectives and needs are achieved and exceeded.

• Prepare mechanical equipment requisitions and ensure that items procured are in accordance with specifications and schedule to ensure timely delivery.

• Conduct technical review of mechanical equipment/system vendors proposal and submission.

• Coordinate with equipment/system vendors on mechanical design and installation work during project execution stage.

• Prepare mechanical technical submissions and liaise with stakeholders, not limited to client/project consultant for submission approval.

• Prepare method statement for all the equipment installation.

• Support during construction, installation, start-up, testing and commissioning activities.

• Evaluate and implement effective processes to ensure compliance and quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

• At least 3 years experience in process & mechanical design in process plant (such as chemical plant, incineration plant, food waste, water/wastewater plant, offsites & utilities, ACMV, pollution abatement, etc.) and hands on experience working in fast paced, diverse and multi-disciplined projects and O&M activities.

• Familiarity with process & mechanical design code of practice and standards in Singapore, EN, ASME & PED.

• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD Plant 3D preferred & in other related design software/applications.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

• Excellent coordination skills and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

• Ability to take on responsibility and work overtime to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work with a diverse team.

• Ability to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.

• Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, and process design documents for offshore systems
• Conduct process simulations and sizing calculations for equipment and lines
• Ensure safety, reliability, and optimization of process systems
• Coordinate with HSE, mechanical, and instrumentation teams during design phase
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and design reviews

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in process design for offshore or marine projects
• Proficiency in software such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar
• Prior experience with big EPC companies is preferred

About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Systems Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing chemical systems design for cleanroom and high-tech manufacturing facilities.

• Coordinate with internal teams (mechanical, electrical, architectural) and external stakeholders such as clients, vendors, and contractors;
• Develop engineering design documents for chemical distribution systems including bulk/specialty gas systems, chemical waste treatment, and delivery systems;
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental health and safety (EH&S) guidelines, and local codes (e.g., NFPA, SEMI, FM Global);
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and timely delivery;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline;
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in chemical systems design or process engineering, preferably in the semiconductor or pharmaceutical industries;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and chemical process modeling tools;
• Familiarity with SEMI standards and local regulatory codes;
• Able to work in a fast-paced, construction site environment;
