Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking dynamic individuals to join our team as Part-Time Preschool Math/English Enrichment Instructors. In this role, you will play a vital part in inspiring young learners and fostering a love for mathematics.

Requirement:

  • Conduct Math enrichment classes in assigned preschool at various locations throughout the island
  • Approximately 2.5 hours per day in the afternoon
  • Working Days – 3 or 4 days a week (Monday to Fridays)
  • Passion in engaging with pre-schoolers
  • Experience in preschool teaching and/or Certificate in Early Childhood Education highly preferred
  • Singaporean/PR only
  • Other adhoc duties

Responsibilities:

  • Check and mark student attendance.
  • Progress Development Report.
  • Mark students' classwork and homework.
  • Prepare students' booklets.
  • Manage students' booklet ordering and assignment.
  • Update Parents Report.
  • Set-up and set-down class.
  • Assist MFS Project co-ordinator for planning and administrative task.
  • Attend monthly meeting.

Expectations and Standards

Person Specifications

  • A relevant degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution and a recognized professional teaching qualification or certification are essential.
  • Early years specific qualifications/specialisms, and/or experience working with a play-based curriculum are advantageous for positions in our Infants.
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years, classroom based teaching experience, preferably in international schools (4-11 year olds).
  • Experience teaching students who are English Language Learners
  • Experience of a concept based curriculum would be advantageous.
  • A committed and creative practitioner, you will reflect on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
  • A passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • An interest and engagement with outdoor education, and an understanding that Service Learning starts with the child and the environment.
  • The ability to engage with students and to engender enthusiasm for learning is a prerequisite for teaching at UWCSEA.
  • A willingness to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, enthusiastic participation in and delivery of Professional Learning is expected.
  • Evidence of regular and recent professional learning.
