- Lead the development of a Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) in compliance with GDPR and local privacy laws.

- Build and maintain a comprehensive data inventory, including categories of personal data, legal basis for processing, retention periods, and third-party sharing.
Risk Analysis & Compliance
- Identify privacy risks and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.
- Support privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and compliance reviews for new projects, tools, or processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as Legal, HR, IT, Marketing, Operations, and third-party vendors.
- Reconcile and validate processing activities with actual operational practices.
Privacy Governance & Policy Support
- Align data mapping with broader privacy programs (e.g., consent management, data subject rights, retention policies).
- Assist in updating privacy policies and standard operating procedures to reflect APAC privacy laws.
Monitoring & Process Improvement
- Track regulatory or business changes that impact data privacy.

Essential:
- Bachelor's degree (or currently studying) in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities
Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to validate findings, analyze root causes, and describe vulnerabilities clearly to product teams, engineers, executives, legal, and other internal stakeholders on privacy matters.
Work directly with engineering teams to recommend, design, and implement optimal fixes or mitigation plans—ranging from code-level changes to architectural redesigns.
Conduct thematic and systemic analysis to identify patterns of repeated vulnerabilities and propose preventive safeguards.
Lead technical remediation initiatives to closure by organizing priorities, tracking progress, and escalating blockers as needed.
Collaborate with first line of defense teams to prevent regressions through test coverage, guardrails, or SDLC process improvements
Participate in post-incident reviews, produce root cause analyses, and advocate for strategic fixes beyond tactical patching
Develop and maintain dashboards, SLAs, and workflows for tracking remediation of high-risk findings
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in privacy engineering, application security, or cloud/software architecture roles
Strong familiarity with microservices environments, RESTful APIs, containerized infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines
Solid knowledge of common privacy/security vulnerabilities, such as:
Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR)
Missing/broken authorization logic
Misconfigured API endpoints
Overreliance on client-side controls
Ability to translate technical findings into prioritized, actionable tasks and influence teams to remediate within timelines
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and remediation across privacy, product, and infrastructure teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in vulnerability management, incident response, or threat modeling
Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles and global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Experience creating automated detection or monitoring mechanisms for privacy/security violations

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Data Protection Officer in THK Disability Services Division, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with clients with special needs (primarily Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mental health concerns and other disabilities). You will review and manage data protection for the Homes and Centres in THK Disability Services (THK DS). You will also support THKMC's corporate Data Protection Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Protection Policies Implementation: Assist with implementing THKMC data protection policies and providing guidance to the management and staff of THK DS in the areas of data protection and privacy
- Data Protection Practice Reviews: Assist with reviews to ensure privacy and data protection compliance and proactively address potential privacy and data protection issues
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and report on service-level compliance with data protection policies.
- Data Subject Requests: Efficiently manage and respond to data subject access requests within legal timeframes.
- Liaison: Facilitate communication between the service teams and the Corporate DPO, ensuring alignment of data protection efforts.
- Documentation: Maintain and update detailed records of data processing activities at the service level.
- Authority: Access to service-level data and systems for monitoring and investigative purposes.
- Reporting: Reports to the Corporate DPO and service managers, including metrics and compliance status.
- Any other duties: Assist with ad-hoc projects and consultations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognised degree in any field
- At least 1 year of experience in any of these areas - data governance, data privacy, data risk and compliance, IT security, IT audit.
- Be well spoken, resourceful and a team player who has the confidence and maturity to interact effectively with all levels of staff within the firm.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Possess a high level of resilience and positive work attitude
- Willingness to learn and deliver timely and quality results to internal stakeholders
- Good writing skills (English) is a plus
