Expectations and Standards
Person Specifications
- A relevant degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution and a recognized professional teaching qualification or certification are essential.
- Early years specific qualifications/specialisms, and/or experience working with a play-based curriculum are advantageous for positions in our Infants.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years, classroom based teaching experience, preferably in international schools (4-11 year olds).
- Experience teaching students who are English Language Learners
- Experience of a concept based curriculum would be advantageous.
- A committed and creative practitioner, you will reflect on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
- A passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- An interest and engagement with outdoor education, and an understanding that Service Learning starts with the child and the environment.
- The ability to engage with students and to engender enthusiasm for learning is a prerequisite for teaching at UWCSEA.
- A willingness to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, enthusiastic participation in and delivery of Professional Learning is expected.
- Evidence of regular and recent professional learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and spoken. The language of the workplace and the language of instruction is English.
