Your ‘day to day’
Develop and implement Philip Morris Singapore’s external affairs strategies. Accountabilities include:
Develop and execute external affairs strategies that are intended to manage current and future regulatory challenges in Singapore.
Provide strategic advice and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as regional headquarters regarding key priorities of the company.
Identify and develop professional working relationships with external stakeholders to partner with them on issues such as illicit trade prevention, fiscal matters, and regulatory affairs.
Develop engagement tools and materials that may be useful for government and regulatory stakeholders including position papers, research studies, and briefing materials.
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments.
Review business proposals and materials to ensure regulatory compliance.
Lead/ support other strategic projects as required.
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical Science.
8 - 12 years of relevant working experience, particularly in the areas of government or regulatory affairs and public policy.
Possess track record of strong working experience with POHs, government officials and TACs leaders. Has experience with trade negotiations (e.g. international, ASEAN) would be ideal but not necessary.
Need to demonstrate excellent networking, stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
Possess strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of current local and international affairs.
Ability to persevere in an ambiguous regulatory environment is a must.

The Role: the Director of Government Affairs for Southeast Asia will lead our government engagement strategy in the region, with a focus on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The role has responsibility to ensure Bridge Carbon is well-positioned with key governments in Southeast Asia, working to secure host country authorizations, access compliance markets, build trust with designated national authorities, and provide strategic guidance on evolving policy frameworks. The Director will oversee government affairs across multiple countries, coordinate the work of in-country consultants, and serve as Bridge Carbon's senior representative with ministries and agencies involved in climate policy and carbon markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Bridge Carbon's government engagement strategy for Southeast Asia, with a primary focus on Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam, and additional countries as the carbon market landscape develops.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with national authorities responsible for Article 6 and the respective government sectors and departments. (e.g., Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
  • Oversee and coordinate the efforts of country-level consultants to ensure consistency, alignment, and progress across markets.
  • Lead the securing of host country authorizations and corresponding approvals under Article 6.2 and, where relevant, Article 6.4.
  • Lead the securing of access to and supply eligibility under compliance markets in Southeast Asia such as Singapore's International Carbon Credit Framework.
  • Provide Bridge Carbon's leadership with timely insights into government expectations, political dynamics, and policy developments affecting Article 6 negotiations and implementation in Southeast Asia.
  • Monitor regional and international developments in climate diplomacy, carbon markets, and bilateral Article 6 cooperation agreements.
  • Proactively inform the other parts of the Bridge Carbon organisation of regulatory changes that have implications on how they conduct their activities
  • Represent Bridge Carbon with professionalism, discretion, and integrity at high-level meetings, conferences, and government forums.
  • Act as a bridge between government engagement efforts in Southeast Asia and Bridge Carbon's global strategy, ensuring lessons learned and best practices are shared across markets.

Relevant Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience working in government affairs, climate diplomacy, or policy engagement, preferably within Southeast Asia.
  • Direct experience engaging with ministries or government agencies responsible for climate policy in Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore or other ASEAN countries.
  • Strong understanding of the UNFCCC Article 6 framework and its implications for host country authorizations, bilateral agreements, and carbon markets.
  • Strong understanding of the carbon market ecosystem (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard, ICAO.) particularly as it relates to the integration of carbon markets under the UNFCCC Article 6 framework.
  • Established networks and credibility with senior government officials and climate policymakers in the region.

Job Summary
To underwrite a Political Risk & Trade Credit account within the PAC team and to perform analytical project work for the Political Risks team. Provide technical expertise in this business area and maintain and improve market reputation of the Beazley brand.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting and Analytical Support
Assist the Political Risks team with the due diligence process on individual submissions.
Analyse company financials.
Perform general Political Risks country, industry and sector research.
Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Political Risk & Trade Credit business as part of the PAC team.
Structure tailor-made solutions by considering the team underwriting parameters and underwriting policy and using underwriting knowledge and experience to win new business and retain existing.
Monitor premiums, costs and claims ratios per contract and take corrective measures if necessary to ensure long term profitability at account level.
Evaluate appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure as well as the underwriting and general administration costs to ensure profitability, using rating models as applicable.
Monitor peer underwriters in their daily work to ensure profitability as well as efficient and cost effective administration of the Political Risk & Trade Credit account.
Monitor and supervise assistants in their daily work to ensure compliance with underwriting philosophy and policy and consistency within the team and PAC.
Comply with Beazley’s underwriting control standards for business written through Lloyd’s, or Beazley’s internal MGAs.
Develop a good working relationship with the claims managers on this class of business.
Client Management
Advise, assist and service clients on insurance and risk matters to ensure clients’ satisfaction.
Foster positive relationships with clients to get a mutual understanding of both their and Beazley’s needs.
Maintenance of good business relationships with brokers.
Maintain awareness of overall Beazley product range and take advantages of opportunities to introduce other Beazley products to clients.
General
Leverage networking opportunities within the business to develop standardised underwriting policy and best practice within Beazley.
Develop best practice and disseminate business and class knowledge within the Political Risk & Trade Credit and PAC team.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time Research Associate at the ADVANcing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases (ADVANCE-ID) Network, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH). Founded in 1905, NUS is consistently ranked among the world's top 30 universities and Asia's top 2 universities. It is an innovative, research-intensive university with over 36,000 students from 100 countries. ADVANCE-ID is a global network for infectious disease clinical studies. Our aim is to conduct rapid, cost-effective randomised controlled trials to deliver relevant and high-quality evidence to guide clinical practice. We hope to achieve this vision through equity (shared ownership), sustainability (build long-term capacity and trust) and engagement of key stakeholders (including clinicians, scientists, governments, industry).

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Research Associate with strong project management expertise to support a regional initiative that aims to develop and evaluate community engagement strategies in clinical trials. This role involves end-to-end project management as the primary focus and will also support research activities. This position will work closely with principal investigators, country leads and research teams, and external partners to drive operational excellence, compliance, and impact.

Job scope:

• Project management: planning, communication, coordination, timeline management, monitoring, and budget, data and resource management

• Stakeholder and partner management and serve as the central point of contact among stakeholders

• Organize cross-country meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.

• Coordinate travel and support site visits; travel to participating countries as needed.

• To work with the lead investigator on collaborative and international research with partner organisations nationally and globally (including NGOs, industry, hospitals and other research and academic institutions).

• Assist research activities as needed, including qualitative and quantitative research data collection, analyses, and reporting.

• Prepare and coordinate research ethics protocols.

• Support the dissemination of project outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets including guidelines and policy recommendations.

• Be involved in capacity building in the region by supporting workshops and relevant training activities.

Requirements and selection criteria:

• Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder management and coordination.

• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Proven ability to produce clear documentation, reports, and meeting materials.

• Familiarity with research ethics, IRB processes, and data protection requirements.

• Knowledge of research methods and data analytic capability in quantitative and/or qualitative research.

• Excellent writing and communication skills in English.

• Able to work effectively independently as well as with a team.

The following requirement will be considered as an advantage:

• Field experience in Asia
