Role summary
The Public Policy (APAC) Senior Manager will join the GS1 Global Public Policy team and collaborate daily with GS1 offices and colleagues in Asia-Pacific. The position will have accountability for the execution of public policy activities that advance the GS1 Global public policy strategy and GS1 Asia-Pacific regional priorities. Responsibilities include engaging with regulators, intergovernmental organisations, industry associations, and other stakeholders, while also working closely with GS1 offices in approximately 20 markets.
The position requires extensive experience in the regulatory and public policy environment within Asia-Pacific and aims to promote understanding of global standards and regulatory harmonisation among key stakeholders. It offers the opportunity to work with a leading international organisation focused on enhancing safety and efficiency in global commerce by partnering with businesses and governments.
Responsibilities
- Expand regional public policy engagement through strategic engagements with stakeholders
- Regulatory Monitoring – identify and track legislative and regulatory developments at national and regional level in Asia-Pacific that influence the implementation of GS1 global public policy priorities and recommend a course of action
- Monitor and evaluate collaboration and project opportunities with government, intergovernmental organisations and industry groups/trade associations
- Proactively assess draft legislation and provide advice to Global public policy team on further action
- Assist in the coordination of policy positions with GS1 member organisations in Asia-Pacific to execute the Global Public Policy directions
- Consult with senior management of GS1 Member Organisations to further the strategic global public policy priorities
- Secure GS1 participation in key conferences, meetings, forums, represent GS1 there and ensure opportunities for global public policy leadership to participate
- Oversee the day-to-day activities related Public Policy projects
Education/experience
- Bachelor's level degree (required) in relevant field, such as public affairs, political science, international relations or business with more than 6 to 8 years of work experience
- Sector-specific experience in food, retail, e-commerce, supply chain logistics, sustainability or working in government and a thorough understanding of how trade associations and chambers of commerce function.
- Experience from APEC, ASEAN or regional/global intergovernmental organisations or government agencies and functioning in key Asian Pacific markets (e.g., experience from Australia, Japan, India, China, Indonesia) is highly appreciated.
Skills
- Must be fluent in English, oral and written; knowledge of major Asian language is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – confident presenter and public speaker.
- Proven organisational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong collaborative skills, an international mindset and willingness to proactively involve stakeholders from a wide range of countries and support multicultural working groups.
- Comfortable learning about new technology and explaining it in a simple way for external audiences such as industry and government.

We are seeking a Manager to sit in the Product & Tech Public Policy team within PSP to help design and implement strategic positioning and advocacy efforts. The Product & Tech Public Policy Team serves as a resource for colleagues around the world, in many other teams across the business, within the Global Affairs team, and for regional and country policy leads, in areas including accessibility, online safety, connectivity, media or tech policy. The Product & Tech Public Policy Team also leads the company’s engagements with civil society and industry organizations involved in tech policy.

Requirements:

The Public Policy And Global Affairs Programme, School Of Social Sciences, Invites Applications For Part-time Lecturers (PTLs). We Are Looking For PTLs Who Can Contribute To Teaching (conducting Seminars, Lectures, Tutorials And Assessment) In Our Programme, Particularly In These Areas
Political Theory (including but not limited to the history of political thought, contemporary political theory, non-Western political theory, analytic political thought)
Public Policy or Public Administration (including but not limited to public policy and administration in Singapore and Asia, policy implementation, AI and governance, sustainability)
Environmental governance
Civil society
Gender and development
Ethics and Civics
Comparative politics
Key Responsibilities
Develop course materials and syllabus
Conduct seminars/lectures/tutorials
Develop assessments for the course
Grade course assignments (including tests, quizzes, exam scripts)
Invigilate the final examination.
Handle all student queries on course related matter
Work with the Head of Division to ensure smooth and timely course delivery
Qualification And Requirement
A least a PhD in social sciences, specialisation in a political science subfield will be an advantage
Prior tutoring/lecturing experience will be an advantage
Able to teach and invigilate during office hours

We are looking for a Communications Leader to lead communications across Asia Pacific (APAC) including India. This is a pivotal role in supporting communications efforts to our community, policymakers, regulators and media in the region. Meta’s communications need to reflect the diversity of nationalities that use our platforms to connect to the things that matter to them. You will be part of a strong international communications team and will be working closely with our global and US teams. This person reports to the Vice President of International Communications.
VP, Communications, APAC Responsibilities
Ensure the APAC and India Communications organisation develops and implements comms plans aligned with the company’s global priorities, while customizing them for the countries in which our teams work
Ensure appropriate funding and headcount are allocated to support these efforts, manage budgets to ensure our money is spent wisely, and focus the team on the most important priorities and opportunities
Use data and metrics to help inform strategy and assess how the team’s work is impacting the region
Lead and inspire high-performing team and create an environment of engagement and strong cross-functional collaboration
Ensuring the work and voice of the team are effectively communicated and well-represented as part of a global company
Champion idea-sharing and ensure best practices are shared among the other teams worldwide including the advanced use of Artificial Intelligence
Develop talent so that there is a strong bench at each level with clear paths for development. Champion continued learning and skill development
Work in sync with other APAC functions especially marketing, policy, legal and the business
Serve as a strategic advisor to the different countries within the APAC region, particularly in times of crisis and controversy
Minimum Qualifications
Track record for innovative communications campaigns
20+ years of relevant experience, including APAC leadership experience
Experience managing a diverse team spread over multiple locations
Proven record of talent development
Demonstrated experience managing complex issues across multiple countries
Track record of exercising solid judgment to drive effective outcomes
Experience operating in a large, global matrix organization, partnering and collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners at all levels, including key partners like policy and marketing as well as senior executives
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Tech or associated sectors
