TEAM OVERVIEW

Market Data provides critical input for all trading decisions that take place at Goldman Sachs. The Market Data Engineering team is responsible for the consumption and timely, accurate distribution of all real-time and historical data provided by global stock exchanges, brokers and data vendors including Bloomberg and LSEG (Refinitiv).

Our core service provides the firm with high volume of real-time streaming data that is globally accessible. It has high availability, is highly scalable with single digit millisecond latency SLAs for the most sensitive clients. This is engineered with a ticker plant that consists of hundreds of nodes, thousands of application instances, thousands of consumers, and updates peaks of millions of messages per second.

We are a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for technology. We look for engineers, with a growth mindset who are driven to automate and improve. Essential Skills include solid Network and OS (Linux) fundamentals, SDLC experience (e.g. scripting, coding, git, svn) and the role would be a good fit for someone who feels they would thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.

HOW WILL YOU FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Work with open-source, vendor and internally built software where appropriate.
  • Design, engineer, deploy, troubleshoot, patch and fix software and infrastructure while innovating on core platform design and architecture.
  • Engage with global team to establish and evolve best practice for operational excellence including availability, scalability, reliability, resiliency and performance.
  • Solve problems in order of business value and understand that technical and business perfection are often competing goals.
  • Engage with vendors, exchanges and internal businesses on impact and delivery of upcoming changes.
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both infrastructure and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Positively contribute to continuous technical development of the team, including technical engineering documentation.
  • Deliver complex, business critical infrastructure projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience as DevOps Engineer, SRE, System Admin or equivalent role, with a desire to learn more.
  • Ability to code or script (e.g. bash/python/go) using an SLDC environment (e.g. gitlab CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code processes and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of Network and OS Linux fundamentals.
  • An understanding of the operational concerns in a demanding environment; ideally, but not necessarily, capital markets.
  • Resilient under pressure, have a mind-set of continuous improvement and desire to provide excellent service.
  • Proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, performance bottlenecks, etc.
  • Live service monitoring, logging, intelligent alerting, self-healing (network, server and application).
  • Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
  • Ability to adapt and be open-minded, without skimping on our core values and standards.
  • Driven to eliminate toil by designing/adopting better tools and automation techniques.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Financial markets/ trading business knowledge.
  • Knowledge of market data products eg. Refinitiv (TREP), Exegy, Activ Financial, BPIPE, ITRS.
  • Experience with large scale/high frequency/low latency distributed applications.
  • Experience or knowledge of containerization and cloud deploy (e.g. in AWS or GCP).

  • An excellent understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, Chilled water plant, CRAC units, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems.
  • Experience of complex automatic control equipment, including relay logic, programmable logic controllers (PLC's), building management systems, and their integration with the data center infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • 3 to 5 or more years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment required (preference is given to data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant experience).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments.

  • Conduct repairs and replacements of defective components or parts, such as motors, sensors, actuators, bearings, and PLC modules, to restore equipment functionality.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors or service providers for technical support, spare parts procurement, and warranty/contract repairs as needed.
  • Assist Maintenance Team in implement software updates, firmware upgrades, and system modifications to enhance ASRS performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Monitor system operation through computerized interfaces or control panels, and respond promptly to alarms, error messages, or abnormal conditions.
  • Ensure smooth operation with the aid of warehouse control system (WCS) and Humane Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies by following proper lockout/tagout procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to safety protocols during maintenance activities.
  • Document maintenance activities, repair logs, equipment histories, and spare parts inventory using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other digital record-keeping tools.
  • Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel on ASRS operation, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for system upgrades, capacity expansion projects, or process improvements related to ASRS operations.
  • Shift schedule planning, arrangement, and execution.
  • Managing inventory accuracy, stock replenishment, and space utilization within the warehouse or distribution center environment. This role involves coordinating with various teams to ensure timely inventory transactions, cycle counts, and adjustments to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in mechatronics, automation, or related field preferred.

Proven experience in maintenance and repair of automated material handling systems, such as ASRS, conveyor systems, robotics, or similar equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems.

Familiarity with PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and industrial control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is desirable.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing complex technical issues.

Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, and respond to emergency calls as needed.

  • Adaptable and able to respond to changing and ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities:

  • You will support the Operations Manager in managing effective operations and maintenance of our retail mall.
  • Coordinate operation programs and execute maintenance works to ensure the mall operates at optimum level
  • Prepare annual budget, manage and administer all maintenance contracts and supervise expense for the operational needs of the mall
  • Assist in the implementation of the Asset Enhancement Initiatives, renovation works carried out by tenants and operational support for the promotional activities of the mall
  • Liaise with Contract & Procurement team, manage and execute specific/adhoc procurement of equipment cyclical replacement & enhancement works in the mall
  • Manage and attend to all feedback and service requests in a timely manner
  • Lead the technicians and manage vendor services to achieve the required professional standards in day-to-day operations
  • Part of Company Emergency Response Team (i.e. Site Incident Controller, First Aider, etc),
  • Part of Environmental Health Safety (EHS) team for review & approval of permit to work (PTWs), risk assessment, safety checks/audits of the mall.
