Description:
1) Review and generate APU Configuration and Service Bulletin Modification sheet for in-house repaired engines.
2) Perform APU final physical inspection in accordance with respective approved manuals and repair documents.
3) Perform inspection of APU shop visit maintenance records (routings, test sheets, etc) and technical data, in accordance with approved manual, and customer workscope requirements.
4) Support other department in relevant Quality inspection work or any other duties as assigned.
5) Prepare, update and maintain shop visit documentation, compliance checklist and logs for internal stakeholders and customers.
6) Perform release of ARC for B3, C7 and any other C rating as qualified. (CAAS, FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc)
7) Initiates & implements continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and quality.
8) Support other department in relevant jobs and any other duties as assigned.
Attributes/Skills/Experience Required:
1) Experience in performing inspection of aero engine assemblies, LRUs and hardware parts.
2) Familiar with applicable Regulatory regulations Part 145 and rules from (CAAS, EASA, FAA, CAAC, JCAB, CAAT, CAAB, CAAM, DGCA INDONESIA, CAAP, CAAV) including their Manuals (Exposition)/Supplements and capability lists, training manuals, TAM/MIP arrangements.
3) Experience in Human Factors and SMS in Aviation Maintenance.
4) Strong team player with good interpersonal communication skills.
5) Committed and willing to work long hours. Able to work on shift hours.
6) Must be able to interpret blueprint drawings and use of engine/component manuals and/or publications.
7) Good understanding of 5S and TPM concepts.
8) Must have intermediate computer skills. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
9) Experience and understanding of Six Sigma and Lean tools will be an added advantage.
Education Required:
· GCE O Level or NTC certificate or higher and be able to read, write and communicate in English;
· Must have CAAS papers or equivalent, to qualify as signatory in B3 and C7 rating for CAAS, FAA, EASA and other regulatory.

Description

THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Facilities Management: Responsible for site facilities operation in designated buildings. Lead and control outsourced operation, maintenance and service team to follow up on preventive and reactive work orders. Ensure timely execution and completion of work orders.
  2. Work with engineers to drive optimisation of the allocation of resources for the maintenance activities.
  3. Align with all site EHS requirements and participate actively in EHS site-wide program (e.g. work permit, LOTO, safety inspection). Active participation with partners to address safety concerns.
  4. Work with Facility Engineer to establish maintenance procedures, maintenance service contracts and maintenance programs to maintain compliance with regulatory codes, corporate and budgetary requirements, and to sustain safe, reliable and efficient operation.
  5. Ensure safe and quality service of all building MEP and process utility equipment including but not limited to HT/LV switch gears, MSBs and downstream electrical panels, Transformers, UPS, ATS, STS, Generators, VSDs, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, AHUs, MAUs, FFUs, FCUs, PCW, UP/DI/RO Water Plant, Wet Scrubber, CDA, PVAC, Special Gases, Waste Water System, Fire Protection, Lighting Control System, BMS and AV equipment.
  6. Establish effective service contracts/agreement with vendors with the necessary spare part list and effective inventory level to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
  7. Thoroughly review maintenance service reports, preventive maintenance checklists, repair log sheet and equipment downtime to improve the Utilities and Facility systems.
  8. Proactively attend to complaints or abnormalities and resolve the issues timely. Lead/Participate in Root Cause analysis and Safety Incidents, implement corrective & preventive measures and drive records for timely closure to prevent recurrence.
  9. Work together with Facility engineer to plan and complete annual power shutdown maintenance without causing impact to live cleanroom operation.
  10. Partner with soft services and project team to drive/support initiatives to meet RE&D department and site goals.

PROJECT COORDINATION: Responsible to coordinate with partners to avoid causing unplanned interruption to business operation due to ongoing infrastructure upgrading projects, labs and office building expansion. Partner with project team to plan, complete, and track construction activities in strict compliance with drawings, specifications, construction plans, schedules, procedures, and other applicable guidelines. Engage with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, understand scope of project works and coordinate with internal partners to ensure all project works are being completed smoothly. Partner with soft services team to facilitate movement of business units before and after construction activities begin / complete.

WORKING HOURS AND EMERGENCY CALL OUT: Shift work (4 days x 10 hours arrangement with 3 days off). Rotate among team members to standby 24/7 for all emergency alerts and call outs. Coordinate appropriate action for rectification including preliminary analysis of fault. Maintain register of all call outs and prepare incident report after each call out.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as facility engineer or technician, M&E service engineer / technician or relevant experiences.
  • Experience in building services and planned preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems delivery to meet compliance and operation requirements are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with clean room operation or process piping system will be added advantage.
  • Good problem-solving and crisis management skill handling building MEP equipment serving corporate offices, R&D facilities, cleanrooms and manufacturing plants.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver parallel work streams to deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly, with ‘can-do’ work ethic, work autonomously, approach tasks with sense of urgency and address any issues that arise day or night.
  • Clear thinking with strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

As a Technician, Repair & Maintenance Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the on-shift Production Maintenance Team. This role also involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing product contact equipment to ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and productivity standards, in alignment with Alcon's guidelines for an effective equipment maintenance program.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Govern the in-house escalation process for on-shift mechanical activities to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Mentor and upskill team members in electro-mechanical knowledge related to Compounding, Filling, and Packaging equipment/systems. Coordinate mentorship efforts to minimize variation and noise in shift activities.
  • Own and guide spare parts requirements for primary equipment areas (Compounding, Filling, Packaging). Apply the bathtub curve reliability model to assess early, constant, and wear-out failures, aligning spare parts stock levels with preventive maintenance (PM) effectiveness.
  • Support the Maintenance Lead in developing annual maintenance budget forecasts to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Perform basic temperature (TT) and pressure (PT) calibrations on Compounding reactors, mix tanks, and Filling transfer lines/equipment.
  • Assist in daily production support tasks such as bottle/carton format changes, applying SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) best practices to meet product quality and output goals.
  • Comply strictly with GMP and GDP requirements, including adherence to SOPs, PMs and CMs. Promptly report any discrepancies or deviations.
  • Provide clear technical guidance, both verbal and written, in support of Documented Corrective Trends (DCTs) and Non-Conformance Investigations NCIs). Ensure timely completion of corrective actions and CAPAs.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for personal and team compliance with all safety protocols, while identifying and driving safety improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors/vendors during maintenance and equipment improvement activities. Conduct pre- and post-engagement reviews as required by Supervision.
  • Deliver in-house technical support during commissioning activities for existing, new, or retrofitted plant equipment.
  • Lead and maintain 5S initiatives and support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects using system trend analysis where applicable.
  • Be available and willing to work overtime as needed; Lead Mechanic presence is preferred during all overtime hours. This role operates on a rotating three-shift pattern
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders (e.g., Compounding, Filling, Packaging, HSE) to ensure quality maintenance services are delivered.
  • Provide clear verbal updates during shift handovers, tier meetings, and maintain accountability for all on-shift mechanical activities, including equipment downtime.
  • Oversee shift documentation and lead the development, review, and improvement of job aids and one-point lessons for Process and Packaging equipment.
  • Ensure incoming inspection of medium- and low-risk Controlled Supply Items (CSIs), including review of material certificates, CoCs/CoAs, and usage approval in GMP environments as per SQA guidance.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervision.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Higher Nitec, Nitec, or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical processing, particularly in equipment maintenance. Familiarity with Maximo, as well as experience in electrical, instrumentation, mechanical control systems, calibration, and validation, will be advantageous.
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications.
  • Capable of working in a cleanroom environment while adhering to GMP standards.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and contribute in a team-based setting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
  • General knowledge and application of aseptic techniques.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with Operations Managers, Engineering Group Leaders, and functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to work on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
