Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing existing operational risk management frameworks to meet new regulatory requirements in APAC.

  • Manage and enhance existing Operational Risk Management frameworks to meet new regulatory and operational requirements in APAC.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in the 3LoDs to implement appropriate risk governance/oversight, design/determine/establish metrics like KRIs, implement controls and promote best practices that drive operational risk management, resilience and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement Operational Resilience framework in APAC and work with key stakeholders to leverage on the enhancement and integration of existing frameworks (eg. Technology Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity Management) and process to enhance resilience in operations, particular critical operations.
  • Coordinate operational risk management efforts and manage Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities across the APAC.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience and senior management and lead efforts to cultivate and promote a strong operational risk culture and ensure adherence to operational risk management policies, procedures and standards.
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • To work with important stakeholders to implement a new regional operational resilience framework in APAC.
  • To review, monitor and analyse Operational Risk Events (OREs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for reporting at risk management committees/meetings.
  • To review new product applications and risk reporting (eg. Risk Register, Risk Incident/Issue in GRC system) from Operational Risk management perspective.
  • To perform regular review of regional and local operational risk related policies and procedures.
  • Organize and conduct operational risk management-related meetings and training.
  • Cultivate and promote a strong operational risk culture.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Good knowledge of Operational Risk Management-related regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with ICAAP, RCSA, operational resilience concepts (eg. Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery planning) and non-financial risk management (eg. Technology Risk, Third-Party Risk) will be favorably considered.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in operational risk management, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Good project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to perform gap analysis of operational risk management policies and processes against new regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Self-starter and a critical thinker.
  • Proactive, resourceful and able to think and act strategically and tactically.

Responsibilities

To support the implementation and enhancement of the Bank's Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) as part of the Line 2 risk function. Operational Risk Reporting

  • Act as Secretary for the Bank's Operational Risk Committee.
  • Prepare and circulate meeting agendas, materials, and minutes.
  • Track and follow up on matters arising and action items from committee meetings.
  • Ensure governance standards and documentation requirements are met for committee operations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external audits, and regulatory reviews related to operational risk.
  • Promote operational risk awareness and training across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of operational risk tools, systems, policies, and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in operational risk, internal audit, or compliance within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong exposure to RCSA, operational risk reporting, and product governance processes.
  • Prior experience supporting committee secretariat functions is a plus.
