Overview
First VP, Wholesale Operational Readiness Support role at UOB. You will be part of the Wholesale Operational Readiness Centre (WORC) that supports Wholesale Operations Centers, with effective implementation of technology changes, reviewing requirements from the end user perspective, and ensuring implementation through testing, training and documentation.
Responsibilities
Gain a strong understanding and stay abreast of business requirements.
Lead a team providing operational readiness support for technology changes to business and operation users.
Work closely with the Operations and Business teams on developing solutions, defining target operating model, and prioritizing changes for implementation.
Recommend effective solution options that meet Operations/Business expectations.
Manage and lead governance/working forums with stakeholders to provide operational readiness updates on project status, risks and issues.
Define areas of High Risk in collaboration with Operations.
Define areas of High Business Value in collaboration with Business.
Assign risk weightage to requirements.
Tailor the testing strategy for the project to align with changing delivery paradigms.
Act as an escalation point whenever a risk to meeting project timelines arises due to operational readiness activities and provide support for risk/issue resolution.
Deliver projects to agreed budget, timeline and functionality from inception through to post-implementation review.
Ensure smooth cutover for Operations, Business and other key stakeholders.
Review and submit management reports.
Lead human resource planning, development, and staff management.
Identify potential modules for automation.
Prioritize test case design and execution; learn and master the TOSCA tool used at UOB to design test cases and automate end-to-end testing.
Qualifications
Bachelor / Master Degree in a related discipline.
Operations experience is a must.
Experience in regulatory reporting projects (e.g. Basel, Top Borrowers Group Survey) is an added advantage.
Experience in managing a medium-sized team (10 to 20 people).
Minimum 10 years working experience, preferably in Banking industry performing Systems/Business Analysis/Operations role.
Experience in end-to-end Core Banking operations, system support; Treasury and/or Finance.
Able to take ownership of issues and see them through to closure.
Able to create effective work relationships across different levels of stakeholders from various disciplines.
Detail- and results-oriented with the ability to work independently within strict timeframes.
Mature individually with strong leadership, influencing and problem-resolution skills.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including effective presentation skills.
Other relevant skills: Project/Change Management, Agile, understanding of SDLC.

About the Role
You will be the Process Engineer reporting to our Plant Manager. You play a critical role in production organization as a technical resource for operations personnel. You apply technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products. You work with internal and external subject matter experts to implement best practices to drive positive change onsite.
You are inquisitive, analytical, data-driven, process-oriented. You have experience or knowledge in plant automation and robotic. Work location is Tuas West manufacturing site.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a resource to guide teams on applicable process technology, equipment and controls technology. Works with plant personnel to meet/exceed business and plant goals (safety, quality, reliability, cost, etc.)
- Lead and participate in safety and quality investigations. Drive root cause analysis to identify contributing factors and implement sustainable improvements.
- Analyze trends in manufacturing process, to define underlying causes of waste
- Lead teams of associates to identify and implement continuous improvement for quality, yield and productivity.
- Spearhead process automation control upgrades or other modifications for product/process improvement
- Network with other engineers and experts globally to leverage knowledge and best practices. Be the advocate of such practices for Operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical and Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, or Automation control background.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
- Knowledge and experience in powdered metal processing and or plastic injection molding is an added advantageous.
