As an Onboarding Associate, you will be responsible for reviewing account openings, conducting due diligence checks, and providing advice to various business functions. Your main objective will be to ensure compliance with internal policies and AML/KYC requirements, while also identifying opportunities for onboarding process improvement to mitigate compliance risks.

The role will support our APAC onboarding requirements and report to the CEO/Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (ECDD) in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines;
  • Conduct periodic reviews based on KYC/KYB CDD guidelines, ensuring timely updates and escalations where required;
  • Provide high-quality customer service by owning, monitoring, and improving customer service, handling customer inquiries, and managing communications with customers throughout the entire onboarding process;
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to customer onboarding and account administration;
  • Participate in internal and external training programs related to AML/CFT and other subjects relevant to day-to-day work;
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher;
  • 1–3 years of experience in a compliance, onboarding, or due diligence role, preferably within financial services or fintech sectors;
  • Good understanding of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) PSN02 Guidelines, Notices, and related laws, directives, regulations, and compliance standards;
  • Familiarity with emerging virtual currency regulatory frameworks in other jurisdictions is a plus;
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills;
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to review and assess documents in both languages.

  • Attached to Private Wealth Business Compliance & Governance Department
  • This position sits within the Private Wealth BCCO unit and is responsible for supporting the front office in ensuring timely and compliant onboarding of new clients. Job Opportunity:

As a specialist in client onboarding, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of new clients and regular account assessments.


  1. Conduct thorough customer due diligence (CDD) and documentation reviews for new client onboarding and periodic account reviews.
  2. Adhere strictly to Group policies, procedures, and regulations during the CDD process for new account openings and existing client accounts.
  3. Collaborate with relevant business teams and stakeholders to address any CDD deficiencies required for client acceptance.
  4. Ensure exceptional execution of the Bank's account opening review process while complying with regulatory requirements.
  5. Keep internal policies and procedures up-to-date in line with regulatory changes.
  6. Perform other relevant tasks as needed.

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related banking disciplines.
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience in customer due diligence review preferably within corporate banking or private banking.
  3. Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  4. Deep understanding of customer due diligence requirements and Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism regulations.
  5. ACAMS qualification or Graduate Diploma in Compliance or AML preferred but not compulsory.
