Job Brief

We are looking for an Engineer/Senior Engineer who is passionate about security with at least 5 years of experience in network security.

This rewarding role will best suit someone with network experience, and the ability to work closely with our engineers to deliver large scale network security solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure & Network Security

    • Protect Telco cloud infrastructure and corporate IT network systems. Be responsible for the implementation and management of security-related applications and systems as system owner.

    • Lead to architect, implement, manage and continuously improve security-related systems including but not limited to NGFW, IPS, WAF, Anti-DDoS, AD(Active Directory), TACACS+, PAM, MFA, EDR, EPP/SP, SIEM, ZTNA, and SASE.

    • Develop Standard Operational Procedures(SOP), Manual of Procedures(MOP), and operational documentation for service delivery and change requests.

Description

Network Security Engineers provide premium-level support for Cloudflare’s security products and features. Our largest and most technically sophisticated customers will contact Support for assistance and intelligence in dealing with threats or attacks on their infrastructure at OSI Layers 3, 4, and 7. This will span the range of Cloudflare security products from Magic Transit Infrastructure Protection, DDoS mitigation and Network Firewall, to using the Web Application firewall (WAF), Spectrum and Rate Limiting to help customers.

Network Security Engineers analyse threats, make detailed and informed suggestions for mitigation and may need to implement mitigation strategies directly on behalf of the customer. They will also provide attack reporting beyond Cloudflare’s self-service reports.

Responsibilities

This will span the range of Cloudflare products from Magic Transit Infrastructure Protection, Argo Smart Routing, DDoS mitigation and Network Firewall, to using the Web Application firewall (WAF), Spectrum and Rate Limiting to help customers.

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor for our enterprise customers, responding to and resolving inquiries and incidents related to network security and performance, while delivering timely, high-quality and personalized assistance.
  • Work directly with customers to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving DDoS mitigation, firewall rules, SSL/TLS, network confirmation, and other security configurations.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles, technical guides, and troubleshooting documentation for internal and customer use.
  • DDoS mitigation for OSI layers 3,4, & 7: advise customers on how to filter malicious traffic using Cloudflare tools like Magic Transit, Network Firewall, WAF, IP reputation lists, packet inspection, blocklisting, allowlisting, and rate limiting

What We're Looking For
  • You have a minimum of 4 years experience working as a Network Security Engineer / Technical Support Engineer / Sr. Support Engineer supporting networking or web security products.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for customers.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills, both written and verbal, fluent in English and preferably a second language like Mandarin, Hindi, Tamil, Korean or Japanese.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and BGP, with a particular focus on anycast routing concepts and implementation, as well as tools such as iptables and looking glass.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues, BGP routing, and GRE tunnels, and performing packet capture analysis
  • Confident with command line and tools, including curl, dig, traceroute, openssl, git

  • Design, implement, and maintain mission-critical trading infrastructure for resiliency and scalability.

  • Reduce network risks using microsegmentation, port-based security, and other methods.

  • Deploy and manage security solutions (firewalls, NDR, IPS, VPNs, etc.) to safeguard systems and ensure reliable remote access.

  • Use automation, AI, and emerging technologies to improve detection and response.

  • Analyze network traffic and packet captures to investigate security incidents and identify improvements.

  • Automate and streamline processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Description

The IT Security Officer shall have at least one (1) year of relevant working experience and to provide the following:

  • Provide subject matter expertise, oversight and reporting on all matters of security, and compliance, within scope of the engagement;
  • Coordinating investigation, management, and responses to all security related incidents;
  • GITSir Alerts
  • GCSOC
  • Operational oversight on all vulnerability assessments, audit log monitoring activities, baseline compliance and privilege user account administration;
  • Yearly Security Awareness Training (Internal and Agency)
  • Audit Service (validate RFI items and share with teams) update and promulgate account security policies, procedures, standards & guidelines and compliance to all FM and subcontractor personnel;
  • Operational oversight of all FM and 3rd party leveraged security services;
  • Periodic reporting to ITSM of current risk status gathered from numerous operational reports from the environments supported by NCS. Information security issues transcend the boundaries of discrete operational areas and requires that this information be presented within a number of broad best practice security categories: i.e. Threat, Vulnerability, Compliance and Incident Management.

  • VMS (Nessus) reports
  • Monthly security log review service
  • Monthly security reporting Service
  • Quarterly privilege access review service
  • Monthly Imperva DAM
  • Monthly Carbon Black
  • Antivirus Report
  • ACISO Scorecard (Patch Management, Asset Management)

  • Asset inventory EOL, EOS and EOSL.

The IT Security Officer shall also report to the MOH IFC Security team in managing BAU security functions and issues.
