Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Take a lead in all phases of Projects from concept development, tender, bids, FEEDs, construction, commissioning, execution, modification to completion
Responsible for designing the FPSO
Actively contribute to Naval Architecture discipline activities and provide input to develop and maintain company engineering standards and best practices within the field
Coordinate, plan and schedule Naval Architecture activities to ensure a logical sequence and timely preparation, review and revision of all related documents, as well as check and/or approve deliverables from the discipline, and assure schedule and quality are attained
Actively drive the development of relevant RFQ’s for module yards, integration yards, newbuild
shipyards and equipment packages and prepare technical bid evaluations input
Follow-up design development, construction and testing activities
Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements
Proactively support and cooperate with all engineering disciplines to achieve optimal design results, including relevant input and comments to other discipline deliveries
Work closely with and actively support Supply Chain, Estimation, Planning and other project teams
Review and approve deliverables from suppliers and contractors
Lead technical clarifications towards clients, sub suppliers, class and yard
Liaise with class, regulator and client for the submission of documents and close out of comments
Support Technical Maintenance & Support team, Operation Managers and offshore Units as and when required, including visiting Units in operation as needed for technical support and troubleshooting
Act as a mentor and resource for new employees, less experienced colleagues and consultants
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering
Bachelor’s degree or long relevant experience may replace formal education
Skills:
Team player with ability to lead
Proactive and able to work independently, applying a structured and systematic approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to ask relevant questions and provide thorough
explanations

Offer Description
As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop/produce/investigate a web-based Ship Simulation and Optimisation Software Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
Undertake these responsibilities in the project:
i. Develop naval architecure calculation and ship design tools based on analytical or empirical methods, i.e., stability calculation, resistance and propulsion estimation, weight estimation, etc.
ii. Develop a practical parametric model framework for ship and system design.
iii. Carry out naval architecture calculations, i.e., stability, resistance, hydrodynamic analysis, etc.
iv. Carry out ship hydrodynamic and CFD simulations.
Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Job Requirements
Have relevant competence in the areas of naval architecture and ship hydrodynamics.
Have a degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering / Ocean Engineering / Other Relevant Engineering Degree.
Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will be advantageous.
Experience in any programming language will be advantageous.
Experience in marine hydrodynamics will be advantageous.
Able to develop naval architecture calculation and ship design tools
Able to carry out ship hydrodynamic simulations
Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university.
Self-directed learner who believes in continuous learning and development
Proficient in technical writing and presentation
Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Show strong initiative and take ownership of work

Job Summary:
The Marine Engineering Specialist will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and documents to support engineering activities. The successful candidate will have experience in AutoCAD software and knowledge of electrical and electronics principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create preliminary drawings based on sales quotations and develop draft outlines and detailed drawings to the required scale.
- Prepare single line diagrams, termination drawings, and arrangement drawings in accordance with the scope of supply (JOP).
- Compile and prepare documentation for vendor submissions to customers and class societies for review and approval.
