As a
Manager, Sound Design
for the League of Legends team, you will be directly responsible for the production of high quality audio content of multiple products. Your consistent high standards and attention to detail will ensure that the content your team produces meets the very high expectations of our players. You’ll manage a high performing remote team, and using your broad knowledge of the creativity, craft and tech of games production, support and direct them through the process of making awesome stuff.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the creative and technical quality of audio content for League of Legends PC, ensuring it is compelling, high-quality, and bug-free
Collaborate closely with Rioters across teams, regions & disciplines to align audio goals with broader product initiatives, stakeholder needs, and efficient production practices
Guide the ideation, conception, design, and implementation of sound design, voice-over, and music that supports and enhances gameplay and aligns with product goals
Manage a remote, multidisciplinary team of world-class audio professionals by sourcing AAA talent, providing mentorship, and developing their craft through training and feedback
Set and uphold the bar for audio excellence, reviewing deliverables, directing day-to-day activities, and ensuring alignment with the game's vision and evolving player expectations
Create and execute audio plans and proposals for new features or major content, including timelines, resource needs, quality targets, and delivery milestones
Design, record (studio and field), edit, and implement sound effects for characters, environments, and features using industry-standard tools, techniques, and middleware
Drive the creative use of sound and VO to support gameplay clarity, narrative goals, and esports integrity
Manage outsourced audio content partners and remote team members, ensuring timely delivery and integration of high-quality assets
Operate autonomously when needed, proactively solving complex challenges with creative and efficient solutions.
Required Qualifications
5+ years experience developing sound for game, or shipped multiple AAA titles
Expertise in the holistic game audio process (Sound Design, Voice Over, Music Implementation, Technology, Player Experience, etc.)
Expertise in game engine technical implementation and Wwise audio middleware.
Experience with sound design creation tools (DAW, Izotope, Waves, Melda, Native Instruments, etc) and techniques
Experience in setting up sound studios, audio hardware, and software setup
Experience with voice over processing tools and techniques
Experience giving thorough direction and delivering timely, clear feedback
A strong communicator and able to convey abstract/sophisticated ideas in a concise way, in English or in Mandarin
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience leading/mentoring teams and individuals
Growth minded and motivated towards teaching, enabling, and coaching other sound designers
Familiarity with League of Legends - the game, its characters, its products, its players and community
Experience teaching audio, online or in person
Experience with Reaktor and synthesizers
Experience with interactive music editing & implementation
Experience with Scripting languages such as LUA
Experience with Audio programming, creating audio efficiency tools
Wwise certification
Mandarin speaker

The School of Art Design Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for a 1-year appointment as Visiting Associate Professor in Digital Filmmaking (Directing, Cinematography, Sound Design), with potential contract renewal. Located in Singapore, ADM offers interdisciplinary studio-based education in the applied arts, fostering artistic excellence and creative leadership. The school is among the top 5 art and design schools in Asia.
Suitable candidates should have a deep understanding of directing, writing, editing, sound design, or cinematography in digital filmmaking, and be able to advise students from concept to final production. Significant experience in cinematic narrative aspects, including sound recording, ADR, Foley, sound mixing, sound engineering, camera work, visual composition, directing actors, and emerging technologies is required. Experience in sound design and directing for game and interactive media is a plus.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in film production, directing, editing, cinematography, and sound design for film and animation, supervise final year projects, and contribute to curriculum development. They should also bring international visibility through scholarly or creative work and participate in service duties such as committee work and course coordination.
Applicants should demonstrate:
Extensive experience in film directing, including working with actors, visual storytelling, camera staging, shot composition, sound design, cinematography, and interdepartmental collaboration.
A strong teaching record in directing at the tertiary level, supported by technical skills, critical frameworks, and conceptual understanding, with expertise in cinematography and sound design.
Knowledge of current technologies and tools used in directing, sound design, cinematography, and digital film production, including AI technologies.
Ability to oversee student thesis projects from concept to post-production, with a focus on directing and advising on cinematography and sound design.
A passion for guiding students in exploring creative and technical possibilities beyond current practices.
Additional experience in directing, cinematography, or sound design for animation, games, and interactive media is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities include delivering up to two courses per semester, supervising thesis projects, conducting sound design workshops, advising on curricular development, and providing technical expertise on teaching technologies and facilities management.
Candidates should hold a terminal degree (MFA, PhD, or Practice PhD) in related fields or equivalent professional experience. A strong teaching record and substantial industry experience, especially in notable international film or television projects, are preferred.

The candidate is expected to bring international visibility to the school through continued high quality academic scholarship and/or impactful creative activity. The school expects a variety of service duties, including school and university committee service, and coordination of courses.
As a Candidate, You Will Demonstrate The Following
Significant experience in all aspects of sound design for film and animation narrative, including but not limited to sound recording, ADR, foley recording, sound mixing, sound engineering
A strong track record in teaching different aspects of sound design at the tertiary level with technical skills supported by critical and conceptual theory
Up-to-date knowledge of key technologies and tools used in sound design, including emerging AI technologies
Expertise in overseeing student thesis projects from its initial concept, screenwriting, production and post-production to the final sound design and sound mix;
Passion guiding students in exploring the possibilities of these areas beyond their current forms
Additional experience in sound design for game and interactive media is viewed positively but does not substitute for knowledge in the key areas of film and animation

Delivering up to 2 courses a semester on production sound, sound design and sound mixing in film and animation
Supervise year-long film and animation thesis projects, with the possibility of supervising interdisciplinary projects in game and other media
Deliver sound design workshops for thesis year students
Provide advice and expertise to identify and expand areas of curricular development
Provide up-to-date technical expertise to review and advise on technologies for teaching needs
Guide technical staff management of existing sound faciliites
ADM promotes Singapore’s creative culture and aims to transform Singapore into a regional centre of media, design and creativity. ADM offers two BFA programs: Media Art (with specialisms in Film, Animation, Games and Photography) and Design Art (with specialisms in Interactive Design, Visual Communication, and Product Design) and. Post-graduate programs combine theory and practice and draw upon the natural convergence of art and technology, offering MA and PhD programs by research, and a popular MA in Museum and Curatorial Practise.
Successful candidates should have a terminal degree (MFA, PhD or Practice PhD) in Sound Design, Sound Engineering or Film Production, or equivalent area of expertise. An MA supported by significant professional experience will be considered. The candidate should have a strong track record of teaching experience at the university level. Preference will be given to the candidate with substantial industry experience and good collaborations on notable feature film and animation productions and/or major television practice at the international level.
