Position Overview
The Head (Middle East) will report to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for leading and managing the operations, strategies, and growth initiatives within the Middle Eastern region. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the regional strategy in alignment with the institution's global objectives. Identify growth opportunities and provide strategic direction.
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research, gather statistics and analysis to stay ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Business Development: Drive business development initiatives to expand the institution's footprint in the Middle East. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations that align with the institution's goals.
- Plan, organize and execute conferences, seminars, workshops, training and events to engage users. Where required, draft the institution’s publications, marketing materials and attend to website, social media updates
- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, government officials, and industry leaders. Act as the primary point of contact for all regional matters.
- Brand Representation: Represent the institution at industry events, conferences, and public forums. Enhance the institution's brand visibility and reputation in the Middle East.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Middle East regional office (when established), ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with company policies and local regulations. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the regional budget, ensuring financial targets are met. Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Undertake such other work that may be assigned by the CEO from time to time.
Qualifications
- Education: A law degree, with qualification to practise law in at least one jurisdiction is preferred. A degree in business administration, international relations, or a related field can be considered if you have relevant experience.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within the Middle East region or elsewhere, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in international arbitration. Proven track record of success in business development, market expansion, and teamwork.
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous.
- Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of the cultural, social, and economic dynamics of the Middle East. Ability to navigate and adapt to different cultural contexts.
Work Environment
The Head (Middle East) will be required to travel frequently to the Middle East and other countries, and may have to be based in one of the major cities within the Middle East in future. The role demands flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
