Responsibilities
Work proactively to problem solve with yield or quality impact on products through development of measurement recipes that provide quick and accurate feedback on product integrity.
Participate in new technology development and startup alongside Research & Development (R&D) fabrication (Fab) sites in the US.
Participate in world-wide discussions such as Copy-Smart Team (CST) for continuous improvement of the toolset assigned across Micron Fabs. Share Best-Known-Methods and lessons learned across the network.
Set up tool qualification criteria and implement monitoring through Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts.
Collaborate with Engineering Operations and/or Application teams to optimize tool maintenance schedules and utilization.
Develop and run projects to enhance inline detection, improve efficiency, reduce cost, reduce tool measurement variability, and improve machine availability.
Partner with tool suppliers and owners to explore innovative approaches to overcome shrinking technology nodes.
Support Fab through data analysis, providing summations of results and recommendations on process changes, equipment availability improvements, and cost reduction work.
Ensure engineering team is trained on recipe maintenance, tool recovery, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for assigned tools.
Determine sampling strategy to meet Production, Process Control and Quality requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Science

Responsibilities

1. Day to Day monitoring and ownership to timely address in-line SPC/defect/Equipment abnormality and lot handling
2. Maintain Equipment capability for production and meet production demand
3. Engage with Production line and Process Engineers to balance tool availability for production, troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance
4. Engage in Equipment troubleshooting and production quality improvement.
5. Evaluation of new equipment/materials and retrofits of Equipment for better efficiency / production quality

Qualifications

1. Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in engineering in Electronic Engineering , Electrical Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering ,Physics, Automation, Aerospace Engineering
2. Able to think critically with strong analytical skills
3. Possess good communication skills and time management skills
4. Prior leadership or competition experience in school activities will be an advantage

Maximizes yield by working on tools, the process, or wafer fabrication recipes. Troubleshoots wafer fabrication problems and performs root cause analysis. Works with other process areas to understand and control process deviations. Long-term investigation of defect issues may require extensive work with shift engineering and other functional areas. As Metrology Development Engineer in the Singapore TD department at Micron Technology Inc., you will be responsible for rapid deployment of innovative 3D NAND process technologies, drive development efforts prior to device ramp, define & execute effective actions to enable solutions required to hit key breakthroughs & achieve the required performance within timelines. This requires close collaboration with our technology partners and vendors to develop and optimize processes in a multi-functional team.
Job Responsibilities
Process development tasks such as developing Scattered-Electron-Microscope (SEM) metrology models, driving the understanding of new metrology technology and measurement techniques in 3D NAND technology.
Own applications and develop processes of new nodes.
Identify and provide solutions for inline detection in collaboration with process engineer and process integration.
Identify modeling opportunities using metrology and detection data to explain electrical failed signature at probe
Collaborate with HVM Metro team on technology choices for the upcoming nodes and able to translate future technology device needs into clear equipment roadmap requirements.
Work closely with the planning team to understand Model-on-record (MOR) impact of new technology. Maintain MOR accuracy to enable successful technology ramp.
Influence supplier equipment roadmap to enable new technology development in Micron.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Material Science, Physics, or a related field.
Familiarity with electron microscopy techniques, materials characterization, and data analysis.
Basic knowledge of operating and troubleshooting SEM, AFM, and other analytical tools.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Your Job

As a Senior Engineer, Metrology, you will play a pivotal role in driving measurement accuracy and technological advancements. You will oversee all aspects of measurement, collaborate across teams and global divisions, and spearhead the development of innovative processes and standards. Our Team

You will be a part of the DSS division, working closely with internal teams such as Advanced Quality Planning (AQP), Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Integration Engineering (MIE), Production, and Project Management (PJM). Externally, you will interact with suppliers and customers, ensuring seamless collaboration and support for metrology-related initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement precise measurement methods and recipes for inspection and measurement tools.
• Support new product development by ensuring measurement equipment is available and reliable throughout the development process.
• Manage measurement requests, prioritize workload, and meet the needs of product development, quality, and operations teams.
• Analyze measurement data and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Design and develop processes, standards, and work instructions to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of measurement tools.
• Maintain and oversee the upkeep of measurement tools to ensure optimal functionality.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in measurement metrology to drive innovation.
• Collaborate globally within the metrology team to share and implement best practices across divisions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Hold decision rights on best measurement methods for part inspection or failure analysis.
• Work independently and review and analyses results.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, or Measurement) or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years of working experience as a metrology engineer.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of metrology and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and problem-solving techniques.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and internet tools.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Training in Design of Experiments (DOE), Advanced Quality Planning tools such as DFMEA, Lean/Six Sigma, or reliability test plans.
• Hands-on experience in conducting calibration and Gauge R&R studies.
• Familiarity with connectors or switches and experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
