JOB SCOPE
Out-patient:
Assist at out-patient clinic
Provide patient education & counselling
Maintain consumables & medication stocks
Assist the doctors in the consultation room and procedures both in & outside the Centre
Surgery:
Maintain stocks & inventory of surgical consumables
Assist in laser refractive procedures (e.g. LASIK) & other minor procedures
Upkeep of laser suite and instrument sterility
Administrative Duties:
Coordinate with external parties (ie. labs, hospitals, clinics & operating theatres, etc) in the management of patients.
Coordinate with external vendors for purchasing & maintenance of equipment and services.
Organise the surgical listing of patients.
Work Hours/ Benefits
Alternate 5 day week (Alternate weekends off)
Weekday 8.30am to 5.30pm

The Challenge
The doctor will be part of a team assisting in managing patients, with duties including conducting daily ward rounds, as well as supervision and teaching of House Officers. He/She will assist in running clinics, as well as assist in carrying out procedures and operations as permitted by the senior doctors. He/She will also be required to perform night duties as decided by the Head of Department, and according to the operational requirements of the Hospital.
Doctors employed for service provision may be granted temporary medical registration for up to 24 months, subject to the doctor's employment contract, conditions stipulated by SMC and the doctors' and institutions' compliance with SMC's supervisory framework.
These doctors may be eligible for conditional registration upon obtaining a postgraduate qualification recognised by SMC or fulfiling such prevailing conditions as may be specified by SMC from time to time.
The doctor must:
- be in active clinical practice;
- have a basic medical degree from an accredited medical university or medical school;
- have passed the relevant national licensing examination in the country of conferment of basic degree, where applicable;
- have evidence of at least 12 months housemanship/internship with a certificate of satisfactory completion of housemanship or equivalent;
- have at least 3 years of post housemanship working experience as a medical officer (or equivalent) in the relevant field/specialty or possess a postgraduate medical qualification in the relevant field/specialty
- fulfil the English Language requirements of Singapore Medical Council (SMC);
- have been registered as a medical practitioner in the country where he is currently practising in;
- have been certified to be of good standing by the Medical Council or the relevant national authority.

As a Medical Operations Specialist, you will leverage your medical assistance case management experience to professionally support our travelling and domestic populations. You will be responsible for managing all ongoing and complex cases through to completion, including, but not limited to, outpatient, inpatient, medical transportation cases, including air ambulance and commercial repatriations, repatriation of mortal remains, and billing cases.
Key to your role is professional, efficient service delivery and the ability to systematically work through cases to completion, supporting effective management of case volumes and activity.
What You Will Work On
- Managing all elements of ongoing and complex cases through to completion, including: outpatient, inpatient, medical transportation cases, including air ambulance and commercial repatriations, repatriation of mortal remains, high-cost cases, vulnerable cases, and billing cases
- Delivering professional medical and network-led Medical Assistance services in line with client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and protocols
- Working closely with the Global Operations Coordinators in line with First Call Desk (FCD) SOPs
- Work systematically through cases to completion to support case volumes and activity
- Ensure all billing and finance elements are complete, including authorization of expenses and invoice settlement
- Support with inbound calls and Global Operations Coordinator activities in line with business needs
- Be an ambassador for operational excellence
- Communicate professionally, employing excellent listening skills
- Setting clear customer expectations: Clear timelines for next steps, meeting agreed customer update timings, and handholding the customer through their journey with us
- Providing suitable alternatives and direction to clients to help resolve their problems
- Accurately maintaining the information recorded on the case management system
- Adhering to telephony and case handling Service Level Agreements
- Referring cases outside own level of authority through the correct escalation process
- Providing regular updates promptly to operational management on high-profile and cost cases, highlighting high-risk (medically or reputational) cases to your line manager
- Collaborate effectively with the Medical, Global Network, Claims, and Finance teams for positive case outcomes
- Be responsive and empathetic to the needs of our customers, clients, and colleagues
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to new front-line staff and Medical Specialists, ensuring consistency, competence & efficiency in medical-related response handling and operational tasks
- Support the training, coaching, and mentoring of new starters
Additionally, you will work closely with the Global Operations Coordinators (GOC) and, in line with operational SOPs, deliver seamless assistance services. You will further support the activities of the Global Operations Coordinators, including inbound calls and inbox management according to business requirements.
