Mechanical Assembly Technician
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly and installation of units and parts. Your duties will include:
- Assembly of units and parts
- Checking of the parts
- Ensuring parts installation as per specification
You will also be expected to perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to join our Opto-Mechanical Assembly team. This is an exciting opportunity for fresh polytechnic graduates who are passionate about precision engineering, optics, and hands-on technical work.
As an Assistant Engineer, you will be involved in the assembly, testing, and calibration of high-precision optical and mechanical components. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to support the development and manufacturing of advanced opto-mechanical systems used in various high-tech applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly of optical and mechanical components in a clean, controlled environment
- Perform alignment, bonding, and integration of optical parts using specialized tools and fixtures
- Design fixtures and maintain the fixture DWGs to aid technician in the assembly build
- Support testing, inspection, and calibration of assembled units to ensure quality and performance standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and SOPs
- Report assembly issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
- Collaborate with engineers to improve assembly processes and product reliability
- Maintain documentation for production records and quality compliance
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Polytechnic in Singapore
- Keen interest in precision assembly and working with optical/mechanical components
- Good understanding of mechanical drawings and basic metrology tools
- Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and patience for fine manual work
- A proactive team player with good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment
Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
- Internship or project experience in optical or mechanical assembly
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 manufacturing practices
