Job Responsibilities
Drive the development and improvement of the materials intelligence cloud platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams and focusing on user needs and scalability
Identify, integrate, and curate diverse materials science data sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility. Implement data quality control measures
Maintain a strong understanding of relevant standards and ontologies in materials science and chemistry.
Apply and adapt AI, ML, and LLM techniques to analyze and interpret materials science data, extracting insights, predicting properties, and accelerating discovery
Leverage patent data, cheminformatics and matinformatics principles to identify trends, opportunities, and enhance data analysis and interpretation
Proactively research and explore new data sources, algorithms, and emerging technologies in materials informatics.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
Perform advanced data analytics and create visualizations to communicate complex findings effectively.
Job Requirements
Ph.D. or Master's in a relevant field (Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) with deep experience in computational or data-driven approach for material science innovation.
Deep understanding of materials science principles, characterization techniques, and applications in diverse material-driven industry domains.
Proficiency in applying AI/ML/LLM techniques, strong programming skills, and experience with data curation and preprocessing. Familiarity with cloud computing and cheminformatics tools is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.

The School of Materials Science and Engineering is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join us as a Project Officer (PO). The PO will join an MOE funded project led by Prof Ng Kee Woei. The project aims to upcycle keratinous waste for the bioplastics development. The PO will be responsible to develop and optimize the formulation of keratin-based bioplastics, characterize the produced bioplastics and assess its biodegradation profile in soil.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough literature review and generate periodic updates
Extract the keratin protein
Formulate and optimize keratin-based bioplastics
Characterize the keratin-based bioplastics properties (e.g. Mechanical strength, FTIR, SEM, degradability, permeability, water contact, etc.)
Analyse and interpret research data
Develop and optimize protocols
Manage logistical issues and laboratory inventory.
Participate in collaborative work within multidisciplinary team and external collaborators
Assist the generation of periodic progress report as required by funding agency
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science/Chemistry/Environmental Engineering/Biology or related fields
