Who you are
- A recent graduate from a Polytechnic or University with a diploma or degree in the relevant field.

Job Profile Summary
Trading Risk Management is responsible for the daily measurement, control and assessment of the market risk profile and profit & loss of the trading books and provides advice to senior management on risk positions. About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Equity Derivatives Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in equity derivatives operations while exploring the potential of Generative AI to streamline and enhance our processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of transactions, while actively contributing to the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions.
AI-Driven Automation: Collaborate with in-house developers to design, develop, and implement a system to automate tasks systematically, robustly, and scalable. This includes exploring the use of Generative AI to optimize various aspects of the operational workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop a comprehensive understanding of US IRS 871m regulations and ensure all processes adhere to these requirements.
- Product Knowledge: Build a strong foundation in various equity products and positions, including cash equities, plain and exotic equity/index options, and share borrowing and lending.
- Collaboration and Business Understanding: Work closely with Treasury & Markets and Tax teams to understand business needs and incorporate these into operational processes.
- Transaction Processing & Reconciliation: Perform periodic documenting, reporting, and withholding tax calculations; execute checking and reconciliation procedures; and submit tax filings to the IRS. Actively seek opportunities to improve the calculation/reporting process through automation.
- Structured Product Deal Management:
- Manage the deal validation process for Equity Structured Products in Murex (Equity Linked Notes, Equity Accumulators, SIPs).
- Perform pre-settlement confirmations with counterparties and authorize payments via AMH.
- Execute fixing procedures to determine structured deal payoffs.
- Monitor valuation/expiration/barrier knocks for potential payouts.
- Reconcile nostro accounts and general ledgers, manage failed trades, and reconcile trade positions between T&M risk systems and other bank deposit systems.
- Configure instruments/indices.
- Create structured product calculators as a secondary control check.
Requirements
- Preferably Degree holder in Banking and Finance/ Accounting
- Minimum 3 years of banking/accounting/ tax experience, specifically in the equity derivatives operations
- Product knowledge of Cash Equities in global markets, plain and exotic equity / index option and share borrowing and lending
- Experience in various back-office operation functions which includes processing, reconciliations, settlements etc
- Good understanding of the end-to-end transaction management processes, predominantly in Structured products
- Knowledge in Funding and SWIFT MT540, MT541, MT542, MT543, MT202
- Ability to use MS Excel (and Excel macros), MS Access or VBA.
- Ability to work with large data sets
- Relevant knowledge of IRC Section 871(m) regulations will be an added advantage
- Team player who can work independently, collaborating with different teams and work under pressure/ tight timeline
- Willing to work on splits Ops locations.
