Job Description

• Oversee mechanical design for process plant (Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Treatment Plant, etc) including piping/valve/mechanical equipment calculation, specification & data sheet, piping/equipment layout, pipe/equipment support & platform, material take off, etc. Review the piping isometrics and as-built drawings.
• Provide mechanical input (such pipe loading, etc.) and coordinate with other disciplines (including the BIM modelling team) for the design, procurement, installation and T&C work.
• Technical review of equipment/piping/valve vendors' proposal and submission during procurement, detailed design and installation stages, support the procurement and tender work, including the cost estimation.
• Prepare the mechanical submissions and resubmissions to project consultants and client according to project schedule and clear the submittal comments.
• Manage the equipment/piping/valve suppliers / subcontractors to meet the project schedule and quality requirements for design, installation and testing & commissioning.
  Support on the installation and testing and commissioning work, and other tasks assigned by the management.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design (such as piping design, etc.) in process plant (water/wastewater treatment plant, incineration plant, etc.) with Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects.
• Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
• Must have advanced computer literacy in commonly usedsoftware applications such as Navisworks, Bentley View, AutoCAD and MS Office.

Key Accountabilities:

• Technical Leadership & Execution
  
  Lead and perform comprehensive Rotating Equipment Engineering activities for major oil & gas projects, ensuring design integrity, reliability, and alignment with client's operational standards.

Conduct and validate detailed in-house site surveys, capturing critical data to inform engineering decisions and system integration requirements.

• Engineering Assurance & Compliance
  
  Enforce client's technical assurance practices, standards, and safety requirements throughout all engineering and execution phases.

Critically review and approve technical deviations, ensuring all departures from established codes and standards (API, ISO, ASME, etc.) are fully justified and documented.

• Governance & Standardization
  
  Contribute to the continual improvement of client's engineering standards and specifications, including review and application of client's amendments to international standards.

Provide technical guidance to ensure consistent implementation of best practices across projects and disciplines.

• Multidisciplinary Coordination & Oversight
  
  Plan and coordinate a team of multidisciplinary engineers to deliver technically robust solutions within demanding project timelines.

Ensure seamless integration of Rotating Equipment systems with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control disciplines.

• Scope & Design Integrity
  
  Develop, review, and validate multidisciplinary workscopes to ensure full technical completeness, clarity, and alignment with project objectives.

Anticipate interface challenges and proactively resolve scope discrepancies and technical conflicts with internal and external stakeholders.

• Contractor Oversight & Technical Validation
  
  Review, approve, and monitor contractor method statements, data sheets, and engineering deliverables for strict compliance with client's standards and project scope.

Lead technical discussions with vendors and contractors to resolve engineering issues, ensuring the delivery of optimized and reliable rotating equipment solutions.

• Project Controls & Scheduling
  
  Develop, track, and maintain detailed schedules for in-house engineering deliverables and coordinate with FEED/EPIC contractors to ensure synchronized project execution.

Identify schedule risks and implement timely mitigation strategies to prevent technical or delivery delays.

• Bid Evaluation & Contract Variation Management
  
  Conduct rigorous technical evaluations of bid packages to ensure alignment with scope, specifications, and client's standards.

Review and assess contract changes or variations, providing technically sound recommendations that safeguard project integrity and compliance.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

• Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer Status or equivalent is preferred

• 10 years relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to Oil and Gas industry

• Ablility to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to Rotating Equipment Engineering

• Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a mulitple project environment
