Are you an experienced Marine Engineer ready to take on diverse projects and deliver innovative solutions? At ABL Group, we're seeking a Marine Engineer for Longitude Engineering to support all business lines, with focus in the Ship Design & Engineering business as well as taking up training and tasking in the marine/naval architecture/structural engineering discipline and general project management/project engineering activities across a variety of projects, blending technical expertise with client-focused collaboration. What will you be doing?
As our Marine Engineer, you will work as part of the naval team, supporting all of Longitude's business lines.
In Addition, You Will
- Prepare as required and assist with technical inputs on projects and working on interfaces.
- Prepare as required and assist with review, analysis, and interpretation of technical data.
- Assist with report writing and writing Technical Notes.
- Undertake analytical work, create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
- Attend regular internal meetings and external/third-party meetings as required.
- Ensure all deliverables are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures, and policies.
- Participate in training and development modules as required.
- Engage with mentors to gain insights and guidance on professional growth and project execution.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Always comply with the company QHSE policies, manuals, procedures, work systems and regulations at ABL premises, projects and client sites.
- And other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
Skills
To thrive in this role, you'll bring your expertise in marine engineering principles, along with proficiency in MS Office and strong numerical accuracy. In addition, you are self-motivated, a proactive team player, and possess excellent communication and report-writing skills. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. In addition, you should have:
- Degree in Marine Engineering
- Good working knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office is mandatory.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software
- Ability to select and apply standard guides, methods, and techniques.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and engaging.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong team player with a proactive approach.
- Well-organized, insightful, and a self-starter.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- High level of numerical accuracy and ability to prioritize work.
- Desirable:
- Member of a relevant professional institutional body.
- Previous relevant work experience with a classification society, ship design consultancy, etc.
- Awareness of sales and business development techniques
- Understanding of offshore oil & gas, ship design, marine operations, or renewable foundations, including relevant practices and regulations
