Skills & Requirements:
1. Must be Bilingual in English-Thai (English is a must) as to deal with Thailand game market;
2. Gamer strongly preferred;
3. Game industry-related localization experience is a big plus;
4. Impeccable grammar, syntax and spelling;
5. 1-2 years of experience as Thai<> English translator;
6. Ability to write creative translations;
7. Experienced in CAT tools;

As the Principal Maps & Localization Engineer, you will be the technical anchor for mapping and localization. You will architect, design, and deliver the systems that provide our vehicles with a precise, reliable, and continuously updated understanding of where they are in complex urban environments. This is a hands-on role with broad ownership, setting the standards for localization accuracy, robustness, and scalability while driving the development of production-grade mapping pipelines.
You will report to the Head of Engineering and will contribute directly to both technical and strategic leadership. This is a fully onsite role at Grab Singapore's One North office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
Mapping Pipeline & Infrastructure
Architect and own the end-to-end pipeline for creating and maintaining high-definition (HD) maps, from raw survey data ingestion to fleet-wide map distribution.
Own large-scale SLAM development to produce globally consistent, high-accuracy 3D point clouds at production scale.
Fuse LiDAR/camera/IMU/GNSS data to build semantically rich, geo-referenced HD maps with measurable quality targets.
Develop robust systems for map change detection, validation, and continuous updates to ensure our maps reflect the real world in dynamic urban environments.
Real-Time Localization & State Estimation
Design and implement the on-vehicle localization system, fusing data from multiple sensors (GNSS, IMU, LiDAR, cameras, odometry) to deliver a precise, real-time vehicle state.
Develop advanced state estimation filters (e.g., Kalman filters, factor graphs) to ensure localization is robust and reliable, especially in challenging GPS-denied areas like tunnels and urban canyons.
Define and monitor key performance metrics for localization, including accuracy, availability, integrity, and latency.
Mentorship & Collaboration
Drive the technical vision and roadmap for all mapping and localization efforts.
Partner closely with technical leaders in Perception, Planning and the Grab Geo teams, providing the foundational context of "where we are" that enables all other functions.
Mentor other engineers, elevating the team's expertise in state estimation, computer vision, and large-scale geometry.
What Essential Skills You Will Need
Essential Skills
Extensive experience designing, building, and shipping production-grade mapping and/or localization systems for complex mobile robots.
Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ (C++17+) for real-time, on-device applications and strong proficiency in Python for offline pipelines and data analysis.

with native language skills in
Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong or Taiwan)

Important information:
This position is on a freelance contract.
As a mandatory requirement, you must have the right to work in Singapore. You will be required to provide supporting documentation. You must be a Singapore citizen, a permanent resident or have a relevant work permit/ Visa in order to be considered for this position.
This is an onsite position. You are required to work onsite during core business hours (Mon – Fri, 8 hours per day) at our office in Singapore. So you shall be based in the Singapore area or you are within commuting distance to our office.
Position overview:
The Game Localization QA Tester will work as part of a game testing team to identify and fix issues affecting the localization of the game by making text changes, writing detailed bug reports, performing regression testing, etc. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and linguistic quality of localized content by performing manual testing across various gaming platforms.
Position responsibilities:
Identify, isolate, document and fix any localization / linguistic issues and verify fixes by using test tools or databases.
Follow and complete Test Cases / Checklists to perform targeted testing and execute relevant testing processes and procedures.
Write bug descriptions based on company standards and client specifications.
Apply knowledge of user preferences in Target Market to influence the client’s product.
Proactively look for gaps in test coverage.
Collaborate with partner teams in testing the product.
Offer constructive feedback on gameplay, fun factor, and game balance based on knowledge of target market.
Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role.
Essential skills and experience:
A regular game player and passion for the video games industry.
Native level of Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong or Taiwan) (testing language), including excellent spelling and grammar.
Good command of the English language (instructions, testing documentation, team communications will all be in English)
A high school diploma or equivalent is required (a degree in computer science, game design, or a related field is a strong plus).
Excellent attention to detail, “can-do” attitude, as well as great work ethics.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize to meet deadlines.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
Understanding of digital technologies (mobile, tablets, browser tools, etc.).
The ability to work well in a team environment.
Bonus if you have:
Availability to start immediately.
Game Testing experience.
Experience with software localization or quality assurance, or in a similar role in the Video Games or related industry will be an advantage.
Familiarity with different testing methodologies.
Experience with game localization.
Familiarity with bug tracking systems (e.g.: JIRA, Mantis, ADO, Bugzilla, etc.) or CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, etc.).
