What the role is
Responsibilities:
You will provide legal advice to BCA on regulatory and commercial issues, intellectual property issues and general areas of the law.
What you will be working on
Your responsibilities include:
- reviewing and drafting contracts to be concluded by BCA and any contractual disputes that may arise;
- advising on legislative amendments under BCA's purview so as to address BCA's policy objectives;
- advising on the interpretation of legislation under BCA's purview;
- advising on enforcement cases including reviewing of investigation reports and ensuring that sufficient evidence has been obtained to support the recommended enforcement action;
- advising on risks arising from arrangements concluded by BCA and drafting appropriate clauses to ensure BCA's interests are served;
- providing sound legal advice on a broad range of legal issues including advising on intellectual property issues;
- representing BCA in prosecutions related to offences under BCA's purview with AGC's support; and
- working on such other areas as General Counsel may allocate from time to time
What we are looking for
Requirements:
- A good law degree (LLB Hons);
- Advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore;
- At least 6 years' experience in private practice and/or as in-house counsel;
- Strong analytical skills and can independently drive the completion of a matter with minimal supervision;
- Possesses effective time management skills;
- A team player who communicates effectively with cross-functional stakeholders; and
- Prior experience in litigation matters is an advantage.

Who We're Looking For
- A qualified lawyer with 4 to 6 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in civil litigation, regulatory advisory, or public sector legal work.
- Strong interest or experience in insolvency, estate matters, or financial regulation is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in both team and independent settings.
- Junior lawyers with at least 1 year of PQE may be considered for a more junior role.
Key Competencies
- Legal Analysis & Advisory: Ability to interpret legislation and provide sound legal advice.
- Litigation & Representation: Experience in handling court proceedings and managing case strategy.
- Policy & Legislative Drafting: Translate policy objectives into clear legal frameworks.
- Critical Thinking: Navigate complex legal issues and propose effective solutions.
Additional Information
- This is a 2-year contract role, renewable up to 2029.
