Responsibilities
Being the contact for the production units
Monitoring the production unit’s analytic results produced by the lab
Managing the LIMS according to analysis plan
Managing laboratory equipment operation, calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting malfunctions as required
Scheduling and manpower allocation to support production activities
Purchasing and managing laboratory supplies such as chemicals and consumables
Liaising with vendors for troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment
Fostering continuous improvement in methods development and transfer
Periodically reviewing, leading, and updating Risk Assessments to ensure safe practices
Coaching, guiding, and providing technical support to lab technicians
Training lab technicians as per technician progression plans
Writing, reviewing, and maintaining analytical instructions and work procedures for laboratory equipment
Maintaining laboratory records and the Quality file
The Lab Chemist may be required to work outside office hours
Requirements
At least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferably senior-level experience in Chemistry or related field
Full-time position
Hands-on experience with analytical instruments and troubleshooting
Good communication skills
Experience in people management is preferred
Knowledge of lab equipment such as GC, HPLC, AAS, UV Spectrometer, etc.
Ability to work in a chemical plant environment handling hazardous materials
Willing to work in Jurong Island

Job Responsibilities
Conduct daily analysis of precious metal materials with accuracy, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Provide timely and appropriate technical guidance to operational personnel, including material handling procedures and hazard identification.
Collaborate with the operations team to develop cost-effective treatment and recovery methods for incoming materials.
Support technical recovery trials by providing recommendations and coordinating operational procedures.
Assist in optimizing alternative analysis and recovery techniques to improve efficiency.
Perform laboratory experimental work to support research and process improvements.
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in the analysis of precious or base metals.
Hands-on experience in fire assay analysis and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) machine operation is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Information
Salary:
Up to SGD 3,700 + AWS
Working Days:
Monday to Friday (8:00AM to 5.00PM)

Knowledge and experience working with chemicals.
