The position of Quality Assurance Specialist is a critical leadership role that oversees the quality control lab operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and accurate lab analyses for raw materials, packaging materials, intermediates, and finished products.

Microbiology Supervisor Job

This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the microbiology lab, ensuring smooth progress of test projects and public system monitoring.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, verifying, validating, transferring and method effectiveness of microbial and endotoxin analysis methods. They will also organize lab events, deviations and OOX investigations occurring during GMP testing and method verification/validation/transfer.

In addition to managing the laboratory team, they will initiate and review all change controls related to microbiological testing, including validation, methods and microbiological-related annual qualification. They will also track timely execution of CAPA.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a GMP microbiology team, with strong coordination and communication skills. They will be able to determine problems, gather information, understand facts and draw correct and effective conclusions through scientific reasoning.

Project management and tracking skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to manage budgets and assets. The successful candidate will guide and supervise the work of subordinates, assigning work, assessing and motivating subordinate employees.

This role supports business operations within the Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering cluster, including but not limited to Materials Lab 1. The Assistant Manager’s scope includes covering for Lab Manager, supporting full-time/part-time undergraduate lab sessions, facilitating lab users to achieve their academic and research goals efficiently in areas of safety, security, asset procurement, maintenance and data protection.

Responsible For

  • Assisting Lab Manager in Lab operations and technical matters
  • Support lab teachings throughout the academic year.
  • Supervise undergraduates and postgraduates on conduct of risk assessments, safety training online modules and other SOPs requirements under the workplace, safety and health management system.
  • Perform lab’s requisition via Ariba on behalf of faculty members, researchers for their teachings and research needs.
  • Responsible for lab equipment maintenance/certification, ensuring equipment under the custodian of the laboratory are always in safe working condition, complying to local regulations as well as OEM requirements.
  • Responsible for lab asset management, ensuring assets under the custodian of the laboratory are properly accounted for.
  • Lead in internal/external audit preparation, ensuring lab documents are updated, properly documented and organized for auditing.

Required

  • Degree in relevant engineering disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and protocol, especially on materials characterization
  • Knowledge in ISO45001, Risk Management
  • Knowledge in WSH requirements and other regulatory requirements such as NEA, SCDF
  • Knowledge in SAP Ariba, IBM Workday, Office 365 suites
  • Analytical, good observational skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Resourceful
  • Able to support part-time classes (after office hours)
  • Operational knowledge of various mechanical tester and conventional machining is a plus point
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and protocol, especially on materials characterization such as FESEM, SEM, ultrasonic inspections systems
