  • Maintain accurate records of space assignments, utilization, and changes and ensuring timely updates to the research space inventory database.
  • Liaise with Estates to grant lab users access to laboratories upon approval.
  • Establish, maintain, and update a repository of standard operating procedures (SOPs), including risk assessments (RAs), and other essential documentation for the laboratory.
  • Assist and support PIs and other lab users in setting up, maintaining, and executing proper maintenance protocols for laboratory equipment.
  • Oversee the daily operations and upkeep of the laboratory, which include maintaining inventory lists of chemicals, licenses and permits, and waste management.
  • Ensure lab users adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and standards within the laboratory environment by collaborating with the division's safety team, PIs, and their respective project teams.

  • Experience with procurement and document management.
  • Familiar with engineering and materials processes.
  • Have practical knowledge of safety and license requirements for the operation of the laboratory.
  • Having experience in managing engineering/ infocomm technology research laboratory will be an advantage.

      • conducting regular safety inspections;
      • confirming user lab safety training;
      • implementing safety procedures; and
      • identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Mitigate potential risks by assessing User risk assessments and supporting PIs in implementing risk controls.
  • Overall Coordination and Support across Applied Research Shared Spaces
    • Manage and coordinate the activities across various applied research shared spaces to ensure seamless operations and efficient resource utilization for applied research and innovation activities.

Job Requirements

  • Have a minimum Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • With at least 8 years of work experience in Engineering or Infocomm Technology related labs.
  • Experience in managing safety as well as inventories.
  • Experience with procurement and document management.
