Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix ink and pigment samples using standard procedures.
• Perform regular and specialized tests on color properties (such as viscosity, pH, and dispersion).
• Record formulations, test results, and keep lab notes up to date.
• Use and maintain laboratory equipment, including mixers, spectrophotometers, and mills.
• Work together with chemists and engineers on research and development projects.
• Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment.

About the Role:
As a Lab Technician, you will be the backbone of our practical lessons, supporting teachers and students by ensuring that all lab materials, equipment, and processes are well-prepared and maintained. This role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials and equipment for Chemistry lessons and practicals.
• Maintain the lab and preparation rooms, ensuring they are clean, organised, and well-stocked.
• Assist teaching staff by setting up demonstrations, preparing solutions, and conducting safety checks.
• Safely handle and store chemicals and apparatus, and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lab equipment as required.
• Conduct experiments to obtain results for teachers when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

• A Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 1-2 years of lab experience .
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• An understanding of lab safety protocols and a proactive approach to maintaining them.

Contract Period: From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.

Working hours:

Scope of work:

(a) Maintain general cleanliness of equipment in the Cookery Rooms to ensure clean and hygienic condition for teaching and learning;

(b) Assist Teachers in preparation of ingredients for practical lessons eg mincing of meat, measure and apportion ingredients etc;

(c) Keep stock of ingredients in Food Labs to ensure sufficient supplies for teaching and learning;

(d) Clear Food Labs after lessons: cleaning of workbenches and sinks, sweeping of floors and mopping of floors, clearing of rubbish etc;

(e) Maintain general cleanliness of equipment and workplace in designated rooms; and

(f) Any other relevant duties assigned by the school supervisors and school leaders.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

a. Able to speak and understand simple English

b. Completed at least primary school education.

c. Candidate preferably have experience as an NFS Assistant in schools.

d. Be able to observe strict hygiene when preparing food ingredients for NFS lessons;

e. Candidate should preferably display traits such as service excellence, has a service oriented attitude, is meticulous with details and efficient in meeting work deadlines.
