He/she will provide planning support to ensure the smooth execution of facility services in line with workplace safety standards and is responsible for the equipment and facilities in the kitchen, ensuring that they are maintained, serviced & repaired for the efficient operation of the 3 kitchen workshops.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and directly supervise maintenance contractors in administering the preventive and recovery maintenance programme for kitchen equipment daily.
- To ensure the availability of equipment for production through preventive maintenance and scheduled maintenance. Examples of equipment, Combi oven, Tilting Pan, Ware wash machine.
- To improve the equipment efficiency, safety, and output quality by carrying out appropriate modifications for the machinery or changing some repair and maintenance methods and procedures.
- To perform maintenance and repair of equipment and troubleshoot equipment's faults.
- To prolong the life span of equipment or expensive parts by proper regular preventive maintenance.
- To be responsible for the safety of maintenance staff.
- Maintain all workshop tools and equipment in an orderly manner.
- To maximize production capacity, productivity, and quality.
- In addition to equipping inmates with technical skills, cultivate the right values, attitudes, and positive mindsets.
- Plan, liaise, and provide direct supervision for tasks assigned to contractors during kitchen closures.
- Work with maintenance contractors to ensure proper storage, inventory, and adequate stock level is maintained for spare parts.
- Coordinate with Kitchen Operations for the conduct of monthly facility services such as kitchen cleaning, pest control, and floor/grease trap cleaning.
- Work with contractors to troubleshoot maintenance-related issues and provide remedial recommendations.
- Ensure contractors comply with Prison's security regulations for the management of tools and adherence to workplace safety protocols.
- Facilitate Workplace Safety and Health monthly inspections and jointly follow through with Kitchen Operations on recommendations provided by WHSO.
- Ensure proper follow-up and record keeping for quotation of spare parts, service reports and timely and accurate submission of monthly invoices.
- Work with maintenance contractors to submit the annual conditional assessment and monthly overall health status of kitchen equipment.
- Raise requests and draft equipment specifications by liaising with vendors/contractors for new equipment or spare parts purchases.
- Conduct administrative support for maintenance-related functions.
