Job Description
Our team, in Singapore, has a position available for a Journeyman Technician to support shipboard networks. This position will support the sustainment and modernization of Automated Digital Network System (ADNS), Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Integration Shipboard Networking System (ISNS), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) networks, and others. This position will work closely with government and civilian management teams for the area to coordinate tasking, ship visits, and priorities as the pertain to the SPAWAR-fielded tactical networks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Other aspects of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform a wide range of tasks, such as system installations, system sustainment and upgrades, distance support, configuration management enforcement, and emergent Casualty Report (CASREP) support as needed to maintain readiness of servers, networking devices, workstations, storage devices, and other peripheral equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis when issues are encountered and recommend permanent configuration changes to the shipboard networks to support MSC’s mission
  • Coordinate support with StratasCorp Technician Dispatcher team, shipboard crews, external contractors and/or vendors, as needed to troubleshoot intra-system issues and to assist with system integration design development
  • Interface with and direct MSC customers in the proper approach to maintaining shipboard networks and associated equipment
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as attending technical meetings, reporting status and progress, and preparing and submitting data to be used in reports and data calls

Job Requirements

  • Must possess current IAT II or higher security certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01M, and be able to get appropriate Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire
  • Must have 5 years or more of progressive IT experience in an enterprise-scale environment, with SME-level knowledge of CANES; additional knowledge and experience desired in some or all of the following areas: ADNS, CENTRIXS, ISNS, SCI networks, Windows Server administration, Cisco networking device administration
  • May be required to travel to Chesapeake, VA at beginning of assignment for hands-on training with shipboard technicians
  • Must be able to work overtime as required to meet ship’s schedules
  • Must be able to take ship rides if needed for critical work efforts
  • Must be able to drive a car to destinations as needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Trade Compliance programs in the APAC region.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in international trade, business administration, law, or a related field.
  • At least 10+ years of international trade experience building and implementing Trade Compliance programs, with a significant portion of that experience in a managerial or senior role within the APAC region.
  • Extensive knowledge of global trade compliance regulations, including import/export laws, customs regulations, and trade agreements specific to the APAC region.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing trade compliance programs.
  • Experience interfacing directly with customs and partner government agency authorities, including responding to government inquiries and audits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess compliance risks and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering training programs related to trade compliance.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist, Certified Export Specialist).
  • Fluency in one or more local languages commonly used within the APAC region.

Role Summary:

  • Work closely with the country product and segment heads to deliver optimal funding solutions for clients.
  • To provide sufficient support to promote cross-border trade across all other SME markets.
Processes
  • Ensure that the relevant Trade products are enabled for SME Banking (through respective PPGs) after assessing client needs and appropriateness, and taking into account the risks and mitigants for each product and variant.
  • Develop a regular operating rhythm with CIB counterparts and key SME Banking markets for effective strategy implementation.
  • Ensure sales and governance processes across TWC markets are in line with strategic intent as well as approved policies and procedures.
People & Talent
  • Drive the development and execution of the overall SME Banking Learning agenda for Trade products.
  • Upgrade Trade product expertise capabilities within SME markets.
  • Share best practices, Trade Mandate win announcement, lessons learnt across SME markets.
Risk Management
  • Understand the risk associated with various products and variants and ensure suitability for SME clients and staff.
  • Ensure that the infrastructure, processes, policies and control framework in SME is designed to appropriately and adequately manage the inherent risks in the product, keeping in mind that risk has multiple facets and goes beyond credit risk (e.g. operational risk, fraud risk, counterparty risk etc.).
  • Work closely with Risk and other 2LOD partners to increase awareness and drive the right risk culture and mindset in the SME organization.
Governance
  • Ensure that the overall risk and control framework in SME for Trade products is fit-for-purpose and working well.
  • Understand the regulatory and legal framework governing trade products.
  • Design programs, products and solutions in compliance with both internal and external policies and frameworks.
  • Work closely with Transaction Banking colleagues on product development specifically to suit SME requirements and participate in the Trade Process Governance Committee to represent SME interests.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
