What the role is
The intern will assist the Fair Trading Practices Division in conducting research on unfair trade practices faced by consumers in Singapore, for example, the making of misleading environmental claims by businesses, the deceptive design of user interface by e-commerce businesses, and businesses taking advantage of vulnerable consumers such as the elderly. The intern will also be involved in the handling of consumer complaints and attend meetings with relevant stakeholders to appreciate how CCCS works with stakeholders to protect consumers against unfair trade practices.
What you will be working on
• Understand the consumer protection framework in Singapore and the role that CCCS plays in enforcing the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003.
• Assist in managing internal information databases and analysing for trends.
• Assist in gathering and analysing information from public websites using manual and automated means.
• Assist in the conduct of market studies and research projects on fair trade issues and concerns.
• Research on fair trading enforcement action and regulatory responses of regulatory authorities in other jurisdictions.
• Assist in formulating and drafting recommendations on regulatory responses to identified fair trade concerns.
• Assist in outreach efforts to the industry and engagements on international platforms on fair trading.

About Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore
The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore ("CCCS") administers and enforces the Competition Act 2004 and the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003, to guard against anti-competitive activities and unfair trade practices. Additionally, CCCS ensures that businesses observe fair trade measurement practices by administering the Weights and Measures Act 1975, and ensures the supply of safe consumer goods by enforcing and implementing the Consumer Protection (Trade Descriptions and Safety Requirements) Act 1975 and its associated Regulations.

Customer Relations Executive
- Provide excellent and delightful service to casino guests and assist them with their needs and requests.
- Assist guests with their trip arrangements and ensure prompt and close follow-up (e.g. hotel arrangements, transportation arrangements, dining arrangements, etc.).
- Conduct guided MBS Casino familiarization tours for guests.
- Introduce programs (with the relevant terms and conditions) to potential Paiza players.
- Proactively identify potential gaming patrons and work with Market Development Sales Team on host management.
- Provide personalized service and establish close rapport with assigned patrons.
- Engage guests through telemarketing calls and invite them for repeat visits and/or events and promotions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (such as Sales, Transportation, Hotel Operations, Cage, Table Games, etc.) on guests' feedback and with objective to enhance the service standards for guests.
- Assist with execution of Special Events and Promotions.

Job Requirement
- Fresh graduates with a passion for customer service
- Experienced professionals with 1-3 years in customer service or sales
- Customer-focused, excellent team player and possess good problem-solving skills.
- Possess a well-groomed, professional appearance
- Able to communicate with guests in English, with fluency in Mandarin as the successful candidate will be required to liaise with Mandarin speaking guests.
