What will you do?

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of system implementation, ensuring clear records for future reference and compliance.
  • Engage with external partners and users to gather feedback, refine requirements, and ensure alignment with business needs and project objectives.
  • Collect and analyse business and/or application requirements to plan, design, install, test, and implement systems that meet customer commitments and performance expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids, tender proposals, and solution presentations, working closely with sales and business development teams to develop accurate cost estimates, resource plans, and compelling technical solutions that meet client needs while ensuring feasibility and financial viability.
  • Establish & promote effective business operations across multiple countries or regions, ensuring alignment with global business strategies and coordinating across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Obtain and maintain key certifications for partnerships with major vendors, ensuring that technical solutions are up-to-date and meet industry standards.
  • Analyse and track emerging technology trends and evolution, ensuring that systems and solutions remain competitive and innovative.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in leading or contributing to major engineering projects
  • Proven expertise in implementing complex engineering/infrastructure projects, from design through to execution and delivery.
  • Experience in system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Specialized knowledge of Advanced Sensor Systems (e.g. Radars, Electro-Optics) is an added advantage.

The systems engineer is responsible for providing pre-sales technical support for Ruckus Network solution.  This role will partner with sales teams to win new business or provide support to ensure customers achieve immediate return on their network investments.

Main responsibilities include: perform in-depth technical presentations and design recommendations for customers, partners or integrators on new market platforms, network infrastructures or network management solutions.  Conduct or participate in customer meetings related to solutions, systems architectures, design and overall deployment providing best practice.

  • SE will be key communication bridge between partners and our TAC support engineers.
  • Conduct hands-on technical training to local partners/customers in local language.

Required qualifications for consideration:

  • Completion of a university degree or an equivalent level of education is required for this job position.
  • Minimum 10 years of Pre-sales experience working with Networking technologies.
  • Strong IP networking background in Switching, Routing, Wireless technologies & Secure Access protocols (VLANs, STP, OSPF, RIP, BGP, Multicast, BGP-EVPN, VPN, IPSec, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 802.1x, RADIUS, QoS, VoIP etc.).
  • Having skills in Wi-Fi site survey tools such as including Ekahau and AirMagnet as well as protocol analyzers like Wireshark is desired
  • Having skills in server virtualization technologies, cloud computing, data center technologies, and networking is desirable.
  • Ruckus product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings is an advantage.
  • Professional level networking industry certifications like BPIPA, JNCIP, WiSE, WiSE-SZ, RWCA-SE, CWNA, CWNE, CCNP in Routing & Switching or Wireless etc. is preferred. 
  • Effective technical presentation skills and communications skills

ROLE SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining and securing the IT infrastructure that supports Firmus’ business operations across regional offices. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of servers, network systems, endpoints, cloud services, and enterprise platforms. The role requires a strong hands-on background in system administration, hybrid Active Directory environments, cybersecurity enforcement, and end-user support. The Systems Administrator also contributes to strategic technology initiatives, including infrastructure modernisation, security posture improvements, and operational efficiency projects. This position demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage complex systems, provide high-quality support, and collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and maintain Corporate IT infrastructure across regional offices (e.g. Singapore and Australia), including Windows/Linux servers, virtual instances (Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox), network equipment, and storage systems.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure AD, and Hybrid Active Directory; ensure synchronisation, group policies, and role-based access control are consistently enforced.
  • Oversee and support security and access systems, including Milestone VMS servers and Inner Range access control infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity solutions using Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cortex XDR, MFA, and vulnerability management practices.
  • Support system backup operations and disaster recovery using Veeam, including scheduled testing and verification.
  • IT onboarding and offboarding process for staff, including account provisioning/deactivation, device issuances/returns, and access rights review.
  • Administer collaboration and communication platforms, including managing user access, integration, and policy controls in Slack.
  • Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and oversee software licensing compliance (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk).
  • Enforce endpoint compliance, application controls, and security policies using Microsoft Intune across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
  • Provide end-user support through the IT Service Desk using Jira Service Management (JSM), ensuring efficient resolution of service tickets and escalations.
  • Monitor infrastructure health using observability and centralised logging tools, including experience working with SIEM platforms to detect and respond to threats.
  • Lead and contribute to IT improvement projects, driving alignment with industry best practices and organisational goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, SOPs, and security audit trails.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver secure and efficient IT services across the organisation.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Systems Administrator role or similar.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
  • Strong foundation in IT operations.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, endpoints, network devices, and virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox).
  • Skilled in supporting hybrid environments with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune for cloud identity and endpoint management.
  • Understanding of corporate network architecture, WAN setup, and multi-site connectivity.
  • Practical experience maintaining high system availability, performance tuning, and proactive monitoring.
  • Proficient in implementing and maintaining security tools such as Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cortex XDR, and MFA enforcement.
  • Experienced with backup and disaster recovery operations using Veeam.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Familiar with Jira Service Management (JSM0 for structured IT support and service desk operations.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Committed to delivering reliable and responsive IT services to end-users and business units.
  • Experience with vendor coordination is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
