The System Administration Lead manages the systems administration function and leads system projects and environments. He/She focuses on setting goals, priorities and technical leadership, planning and overseeing systems upgrades and migrations. Ensures systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and coherent across the organisation.
Possesses strong leadership and communication abilities. Able to set realistic goals, implement plans and guide the team toward achieving those goals. Addresses multi-faceted issues effectively in a collaborative manner including across departments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Set system administration processes and establish goals and priorities for design, planning, day-to-day operation, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of systems.
- Align system administration with overall strategic IT service direction and business needs.
- Assist with the development of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for spending and initiatives.
- Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues.
- Develop policies, procedures and controls to ensure system security.
Manage new systems development by partnering with stakeholders to recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration.
Define systems requirements for new technology implementations and prepare for system expansion by studying plans and requirements.
Oversee the design, maintenance and implementation of the systems, prioritising tasks to ensure projects are implemented in accordance with project plans and budgets.
Optimise Systems PerformanceRecommend process, product or service improvements, resource optimisation and cost savings.
Oversee hardware and software upgrades and recommend new technologies, methodologies, systems or opportunities for cost savings, security and service quality improvement.
Team ManagementOversee team management including budgets, forecasting, work allocations and staffing.
Develop staff through ongoing coaching, mentoring and career discussions.
Define common goals, direction and accountability among staff and drive effective performance management practices within the department.
Qualifications/ Requirements- Bachelor in Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.
- At least 3 - 5 years' experience in Window server and Citrix administration.
- Experience in administrating Windows servers for 3 years more.
- Windows and citrix certified.
- Familiar with enterprise level trouble shooting and systematic approach.
- Strong communications skills with stakeholders and ROs.
- Experience in healthcare applications preferred and/or willing to take up the challenges in a healthcare related industry.
- Able to commit to 24/7 standby and work on site.
- Able to work on night activities such as patching/ upgrades/ maintenance/ tech refresh.
