Who are we looking for?The Purchasing Specialist assists the Senior Purchase Specialist or (multi-site) Purchase Manager in executing the local, site-specific purchase strategy. The role involves working with site management and other stakeholders to implement purchase projects and identify savings opportunities. Responsibilities include purchasing goods, materials, and services to meet operational needs, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure supply continuity. The role also includes managing relationships with critical suppliers and interfacing between internal customers and suppliers, including improving supplier quality and resolving sourcing issues. This position reports to the Senior Purchasing Specialist or (Multi) Site Purchasing Manager and works closely with Regional Sourcing Managers and local Supply Chain teams.
What will you be doing?- Ensure raw material supply availability
- Escalate supply issues and collaborate with procurement teams regionally and globally on mitigation strategies
- Provide data on material management for process improvements
- Identify and drive savings projects in coordination with supervisors and sourcing managers
- Provide feedback on sourcing strategies and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency and business performance
- Manage contracts with regional and global vendors, tracking commitments, pricing, rebates, and quantities
- Support and participate in supplier audits to ensure compliance and minimize risks, including financial assessments and business continuity planning

What competencies will you need?- 1-3 years of strong purchasing experience, preferably in a multinational manufacturing setting; chemical industry experience is a plus

- Effective collaboration across functions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.

Who are we looking for?
The Purchasing Specialist is a key member to support Purchasing Manager to execute procurement strategy on daily basis for Singapore and Malaysia plant. He/She is in charge of operation level negotiation with suppliers and work together with cross-functional teams to support business plan. He/she shall comply with procurement code of conduct strictly to carry out daily work.
What will you be doing?
- Review and analyse materials requirements for production and execute the vital actions such as generating Purchase Order, scheduling and re-scheduling of material based on MRP requirement
- Coordinate with operations team on material purchasing plan to support production and ensure continuous material supply.
- Manage import operation and administrate required documents with suppliers, forwarder and operation teams
- Manage and control of raw material inventory level to optimize stock turnover to achieve desired company inventory turn objective.
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage supplier base to achieve delivery performance and negotiate with supplier to ensure optimum cost competitiveness.
- Manage supplier relationships, resolve supplier issues, and supply risks.
- Participating in internal and external audits
- Provide support in sourcing, price checking and new source qualification process
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sourcing team, Production, Quality Assurance, etc.) to ensure sourcing meets production timelines, cost targets, and product specifications.
- Provide support on project related procurement aspects
Who are You?
- Diploma / Degree in supply chain management, business management or chemical engineering is a plus.
- 3-5 years working experience in supply chain management or procurement
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin
What competencies will you need?
- Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
