Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and manage cross-functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates make versus buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material and associated cost elements.

Performs analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build to forecast plans. Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to develop best cost strategy for production planning to support customer demand.

Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.

Establishes and manages production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules. Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Finance, and inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.

Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to meet the company's business growth and sourcing requirements. Identify, develop, and manage effective relationship with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets. Establish, implement, and manage system to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance.

Coordinate and work with quality, engineering, machining, and assembly operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.

Represents materials organization on corporate materials task force teams. Manages department budget, associated costs and resources.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented professional to fill the role of Materials Management Engineer.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing various activities related to repacking, containment, ICW operations, and maintenance. They will ensure that staff members are trained according to established On-the-Job Training programs and follow safe work procedures and SOPs.

In addition, the Materials Management Engineer will monitor the safe process flow and backlog levels of TIW waste, coordinate with operations, sales, and customer service teams to maintain high service quality, and track containment purchase budgets to reduce costs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline and at least 2 years of relevant experience. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and manage repacking, containment, ICW operations, and maintenance activities

  2. Monitor the safe process flow and backlog levels of TIW waste

  3. Ensure staff are trained according to the On-the-Job Training program and follow safe work procedures and SOPs

  4. Coordinate with operations, sales, and customer service teams to maintain high service quality

  5. Track containment purchase budgets and promote recycling of used containment to reduce costs

  6. Perform daily inspections of operations, check plant 5S and TPM activities, and monitor safety, equipment, and machinery

  7. Lead daily safety toolbox meetings and ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is adequate for all staff

  8. Review existing procedures and workflows to improve efficiency and throughput

  9. Implement continuous improvement and modification plans for optimal operations

  10. Collaborate with lab chemists to evaluate and develop new treatment methods and procedures for new or unknown wastes, and report on operation costs

  11. Ensure compliance with EHS standards and support continual improvement of ISO 45001

  12. Prepare and analyze daily and monthly operational records and reports, address any issues, and follow up with relevant departments

  13. Compile annual operation and maintenance budgets for approval and monitor expenditures

  14. Work with operations and engineering teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules

  15. Conduct regular training for staff on safe waste handling, MSDS, PPE, and risk assessment

  16. Activate the emergency response team and respond to spills or fire incidents as needed; work with the EHS department to ensure proper emergency preparedness and conduct regular drills

Requirements
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • 2 years of relevant experience
