We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Planner to join our steam. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for forecasting demand, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring the seamless distribution of medical devices across our warehouses and customer locations.
This position is key to ensuring product availability, minimizing waste and obsolescence, and supporting regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, logistics, regulatory, and sales to align supply with demand and enhance inventory operations that directly impact customer satisfaction and business success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to ensure optimal product availability across distribution centers and customer sites.
- Forecast demand using sales trends, seasonal patterns, market intelligence, and healthcare-specific data to maintain balanced and accurate inventory levels.
- Monitor and manage inventory across all warehouse locations, ensuring timely replenishment while minimizing shortages, overstock, and obsolescence.
- Standardize and optimize inventory levels to improve efficiency and service delivery across all facilities.
- Track and flag aged, slow-moving, or near-expiry inventory; coordinate with sales to prioritize redistribution or liquidation strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, regulatory, logistics, and commercial teams to align inventory planning with business and customer needs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP) for inventory storage, traceability, and product handling.
- Manage product shelf life, lot tracking, and expiration controls to uphold quality standards and support recall readiness.
- Prepare inventory performance reports with insights on trends, risks, and opportunities, offering actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Partner with suppliers to manage lead times, prevent backorders, and maintain optimal order cycles.
- Support key initiatives such as product launches, phase-outs, and recalls with forward-thinking inventory strategies.
- Continuously improve inventory tools, processes, and systems to drive efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.
- Tertiary orBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain management; experience in the medical device or healthcare industry preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with data analysis tools and inventory models.
- Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and demand planning platforms.
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles and forecasting techniques.
- Highly organized with excellent time management and a sharp attention to detail.

- Liaise with Sales & Marketing to understand the rolling forecast and plan materials to provide assurance of supply.
- Work closely with production sites to review the Rough-Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) in the supply planning system.
- Understand capacity constraints and proactively highlight potential risks to customer supply.
- Optimise Finished Good Inventory (FGI) levels in line with forecast demand and safety stock levels, ensuring customer supply is maintained whilst managing business cost.
- Analyse and develop options for the inventory position / projections for finished goods/components and ensure inventory balance across supply chain.
- Based in rolling forecast, inventory position and aged inventory level; make recommendations for weekly supply plan from the Ceramic Injection Molding (CIM) sites.
- Prepare and facilitate monthly supply planning meetings (S&OP).

- Update Inventory Data and Safety stock levels for FGI & SKU (Stock Keeping Unit).

- Drive improvement on other KPIs (key performance indicators) – Past dues, OTIF (on time delivery in full), etc.
Education/Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (e.g., Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management).
- Post-graduate or professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CPIM, APICS) are an advantage.
Job Requirement (Experience)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supply chain planning function.
- At least 2 years' experience working within an ERP environment.
- Experience with supply planning tools/software in fast-paced, volatile markets (e.g., Consumer Electronics, FMCG).
- Strong understanding of MRP and replenishment processes.
- Knowledge of best-practice inventory management and safety stock policies.
