The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Internal Medicine Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary veterinary team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will hold a veterinary degree and specialist board certification in Internal Medicine, and must be eligible to obtain a veterinary license from the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVS). This role requires advanced diagnostic expertise, excellent clinical judgment, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and Treat Complex Medical Conditions: Evaluate, diagnose, and manage internal medicine cases involving respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiology, renal, hepatic, and endocrine systems.
- Advanced Diagnostics and Procedures: Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics such as endoscopy, ultrasound, CT scans, and echocardiography. Review labs, ancillary tests, and consult with other specialists to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Patient Management: Develop and implement treatment plans, including long-term management of chronic diseases and daily reviews of in-patient cases.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with veterinary specialists across multiple disciplines. Provide internal medicine consultations for hospital in-patients and guide overall case management.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with pet owners, ensuring they understand their pet's diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care requirements.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including diagnostic results, treatment plans, and patient progress notes.
- Continued Education and Training: Stay current with advancements in veterinary internal medicine and actively engage in ongoing professional development.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Supervise and mentor internal medicine veterinarians, interns, and veterinary nurses. Conduct hospital rounds, journal clubs, and contribute to continuing education initiatives.
