The Interior Architect is responsible for designing and implementing new and refurbished properties, as well as other projects. This position works closely with the CEO, Lead Interior Architect, and contractors to deliver projects that combine high design standards with commercial functionality, while maintaining consistency and standards at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ability to work on the upfront creative part of interior design and also the balance of design development and detailing;
· Monitor design process from conception to construction administration; conduct minor modifications to complete working drawing sets to ensure consistency of design idea;
· Perform project research and support the Lead Interior Architect to write specifications;
· Communicates directly with all aspects of the architecture – Construction, Outlet Planning, Architectural Technology, IT and Outlet Operations. Through the output of details and distribution of architectural design rules, which will host specifications, approved samples and details;
· Interact, follow up and maintain good work relationships with various officials/contractors during project permitting and construction phases;
· Delivers all new and existing projects to a very high level of accuracy in a timely manner, minimising any potential delays;
· Brand awareness and commercially minded in the delivery of all communication and presentations of design to internal and external stakeholders;
· A clear understanding and knowledge of all the concepts, fixtures, and architectural finishes with their associated details and material qualities;
· Develop and implement policy/procedure; schedule of preventive maintenance and/or repairs to upkeep the condition of the properties
· Adhoc duties/projects assigned by the supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
· Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent
· At least 8 years' relevant professional experience.
· Experience in the design of a restaurant/café is an advantage
· Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate external contractors
· High level of computer literacy with knowledge of AutoCAD, design software and good sketching
· Proficient in 3D modelling
· Able to demonstrate an understanding of construction techniques, furniture detailing, understanding of mechanical systems and lighting
· Independent, self-motivated with strong analytical and planning skills
· Ability to work under pressure with a tight timeline
