Systems Engineer

This role is a technical position that will work directly with customers to define functional requirements and design, configure and implement control systems, software programs, electronic circuitry or packaging for products or systems.

The Automation Systems Engineer will work in a team environment with engineers and designers from various partners and clients to provide state-of-the-art Control Systems to improve efficiency, product quality and profitability of process manufacturing.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and enjoy working with people.

1. Design Electrical Panels, Control Architecture, and wiring drawings.
2. Develop and build solutions using different industrial applications.
3. Development of P&ID documentation for process clients.
4. Define and implement Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Ladder Design, Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration to meet client needs.
5. Execute and lead services such as system upgrades, system support and routine maintenance.
6. To understand and comply to all SOP/SEOP in all operational matters.
7. Implementation of industrial application based on solution architect and technical lead's design.
8. Testing and on-site commissioning of control systems.
9. Support of process control clients at sites in Singapore and abroad.
10. May grow into position leading team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions for clients.

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
2. Minimum of 2-3 years experience in automation system engineering in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
3. Excellent Communication Skills.
4. Platform knowledge in Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Emerson, DeltaV, etc.
5. Process understanding of batch or continuous process control, combustion control, etc.
6. Awareness of process safety, validation, and good documentation practices.
7. Programming languages: PLC ladder logic, Function Block, SFC VB.
8. Third party HMI/SCADA Software, i.e. Intellution, WonderWare, OSIsoft, etc.
9. Others: network design/administration.

Our company is seeking a skilled Control Systems Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative environment where you will design, test and commission electrical control systems for ACMV/HVAC systems in buildings.

• Design and develop control strategy for automation system controls for building M&E systems (ACMV)
• Design and draft system control logic and drawing to meet project commitments
• Work closely with internal teams such as mechanical design and project engineers to design effective solutions to solve engineering problems
• Liaise with suppliers on components selection and quotation to develop project costing
• Review specifications and standard practices for projects and tenders
• Address issues brought about by feedback from customers and operations teams to improve the performance of the electrical and controls system

To excel in this role, you will require a high level of organization, creativity, attention to detail, and engineering knowledge to successfully perform design, engineering and field start up tasks for System Integration in Electrical Controls for building M&E systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Electronics Engineering
• Relevant experience/experience in ACMV design/controls is a plus
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to prioritize and work independently to meet project timelines

• Must have minimum 5 years in similar lead role in major LNG and oil/gas projects. (experience in LNG and oil & gas projects is mandatory)
• Fully familiar with Singapore codes and international codes, standards, and recommended practices to be adopted during EPC phases of LNG & Oil/gas projects.

You will lead and supervise a team of Technical Officers in performing both preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system which consist of large water-cooled chillers, water pumps, cooling towers, air handling units, fan coil units, mechanical ventilation fans, etc. including tunnel ventilation system (tunnel ventilation and tunnel booster fans).

1) Prepare and submit monthly work schedules. Ensure all monthly maintenance work orders are scheduled and carried out as planned and are closed promptly.

2) Ensure that all works carried out comply strictly with the statutory Codes of Practices, approved work instruction / task list, in-house Work Safety Manual, Quality Procedures and Quality Assurance System etc.

3) Review all maintenance records and certify the safety critical work order completion and to feedback any fault or abnormality and to take remedial action if required.

4) Participate, review and update work instruction / task list to ensure that all latest requirements are met and to enhance productivity.

5) Ensure that all reported faults are followed up.

6) Coordinate and attend to interfacing works, testing, commissioning and taking over of newly installed ECS equipment.

7) Work closely with the LTA and their contractor to close all faults and defects registered during the equipment Defect Liability Period (DLP).

8) Ensure that the maintenance key performance targets are met every month.

9) Ensure safety in the workplace through close supervision and implementation of all safety requirements

A Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Building Services Technology or Facilities Management.

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant post-graduate working experience in operation and maintenance of building facilities systems (air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system, electrical system, fire protection system and other related M&E equipment).

Candidate with relevant experience in handling M&E projects will also be considered.

Candidate with more than 6 years of relevant experience will be given a senior post.

Candidate must be prepared to work in 3 rotating shifts .

Must be self-motivated, resourceful, organized, independent and possess strong interpersonal & communication skills.

Ability to think logically and be a good team player.

Relevant experience with ‘Maximo’ maintenance software is a plus point.
