JOB SCOPE

Trainee will be trained to assist and support the Operations Executive/Manager to lead and organize site Operations Team to ensure safety, daily routine, periodic schedule and manpower are available to meet contract standards and requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trainee will learn about manpower deployment and scheduling to help develop cleaning service operations work plans in line with contract standards and requirements
• Trainee will respond to customer feedback
• Trainee will learn about Workplace Safety and Health Practices so as to ensure safety measures are in place on site
• Trainee will learn to operate various types of environmental services (ES) machinery and equipment safely and competently
• Trainee will be exposed to handle wide-range of environmental services tasks at different project sites.
• Recommend ways to improve environmental sustainability using insights gathered from data analysis
• Trainee may be assigned to oversee multiple sites and will be expected to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned by the reporting supervisor

You will work with stakeholders to develop operational models in line with the development of hospital services and care model, develop operational workflows and emergency response/security plans, co-develop workflow simulations based on various scenarios to test new models both virtually and on physical prototypes in the EGH Healthcare Living Lab (HLL). You will be required to manage an in-house core team, as well as our outsourced partners / service providers and concurrently develop procurement and resourcing plans to support the environmental services operations, whilst implementing initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of the operations (e.g. adoption of technology or robotics to reduce manual labour and optimise resources, outcomes-based contracting, and sustainable practices).

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with at least 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in management of hospital operations
• Good knowledge in both front-end and back-end environmental services
• Team player, highly motivated and action-oriented with excellent planning and analytical skills
• Able to engage various stakeholders in a fluid environment and growing organisation
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging conditions

• To inspect visually all incoming trucks at the reception hall, controlling traffic flow and maintaining a queue system.
• To monitor and control vehicles speeding through the plant area, reporting any incidents to management.
• To guide trucks to designated discharge doors, inspecting refuse while unloading and ensuring manual dumping on the crusher chute is carried out safely.

• To ensure the plant operates within scheduled times, minimizing downtime.
• To maintain a clean and tidy reception hall and surrounding areas.
• To provide exceptional customer service to visiting vendors and suppliers.

• A secondary level education or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in English language.
• A willingness to work in an incineration plant environment.

As a waste management driver, you will be responsible for collecting and transporting food waste bins in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and transport food waste bins to designated collection points
• Assist vehicle attendants in loading and unloading food waste bins as needed
• Perform daily checks on assigned vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
• Report any road hazards or safety concerns to supervisors

Requirements:

• Possess a valid Class 4/5 driving license
• Added advantage if possess relevant WSQ certification
• Minimum Primary School Certification required
