We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research fellow to join the Programme in Translational and Clinical Liver Cancer Research, led by Prof Pierce Chow, tenured Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and NMRC STaR Awardee. Our Program spans the entire spectrum of Liver Cancer scientific investigations from translational research to randomized controlled trials.
A part of our research focuses on deciphering the spatial and single-cell remodeling of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to correlate that to clinical outcome and to response and resistance to therapeutics. The incumbent will utilize various types of patient biosamples and leverage on the insights generated from multi-omics approaches e.g. bulk tumor next-generation sequencing (NGS), cfDNA NGS, single cell RNA-seq and proteomics, CyTOF, 3D spatial transcriptomics and targeted/untargeted metabolomics in the context of a clinical cohort. Experience with interpreting the spatial data in the context of immunology is a requirement. In addition, the incumbent is also expected to perform wet bench research to interrogate and validate the functions of shortlisted targets, as well as investigating their values as biomarkers of therapy response and resistance. Expertise in spatial-omics approaches, cancer models, immunohistochemistry, and translational research is highly desirable.
The candidate will assist the Principal Investigator in conceptualizing and conducting research projects, responsible for the coordination and management of the spatial-omics projects of the multidisciplinary study, and to lead grant applications and manuscript preparation.
The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, working closely with bioinformaticians, clinicians, and researchers involved in ongoing clinical trials. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer biology research, with the potential to directly impact therapeutic strategies for HCC patients.

At Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC), we are dedicated to discovering and developing novel therapeutics through close collaboration with public sector institutions and industry partners. Drug discovery is a complex and resource-intensive journey, and we harness AI and data-driven strategies to improve the success rate of our programs. As part of our long-term strategy, we initiate projects where confidence in the therapeutic targets is strengthened by insights from patient-derived datasets. Like many biotech and pharmaceutical companies that are expanding into inflammation and immunology (I&I) disease areas, our approach reflects this growing trend and aims to deliver innovative solutions to address significant unmet medical needs in this area.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our I&I discovery group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology, molecular biology, and translational research. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team working on the discovery of novel therapeutics and engaging in preclinical drug development from target exploration to drug candidate selection within the I&I therapeutic space.
Responsibilities
Lead and design preclinical research programs focused on identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets in immunology.
Develop and optimize cell-based assays, flow cytometry panels, and molecular biology techniques to support drug discovery.
Participate in the evaluation of internal as well as external collaborative projects.
Analyze, interpret, and present complex data to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Stay up to date with relevant scientific literature, research on translatability of preclinical disease models and novel mechanisms of action of particular importance within the I&I therapeutic space.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including medicinal chemistry, antibody technology, in vivo pharmacology, computational biology and clinical development.
Mentor and train junior scientists, providing technical guidance, fostering scientific development, and supporting career growth within the team.
Requirements
Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field with > 8 years working experience and minimally
3 years experience
in the
industry
sector.
Strong expertise in
immune cell biology , cytokine signalling, and autoimmune disease models.
Experience with
primary human PBMCs , along with a strong understanding of
tissue repair and regeneration
in the context of immune resolution.
Proven expertise in
developing and optimizing cell-based
functional
assays.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey scientific concepts and influence stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
Proven track record of
scientific innovation , publications, and project leadership.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience with
biologics
or
small
molecule
therapeutics is preferred.
Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and
multi-omics data analysis
is preferred.

Job Description
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School's primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities.
The Nutrition, Metabolism and Health Programme is co-located with several other LKCMedicine research programmes, and it sits in the epicentre of the Novena Health City to reflect our research and clinical partnerships within as well as outside Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) and the National Healthcare Group (NHG). The key objective of the Programme is to understand the developmental and environmental basis of obesity, diabetes, related gut and metabolic disorders and to translate this understanding into disease alleviation and prevention so as to maximise our human potential.
We are looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to join the BatLab to focus on various aspects of translational immunology and aging research in bats. The work will be conducted in a research group led by Nanyang Assistant Professor Ahn Matae who is a pioneer in bat immunology. The projects focus on bat-inspired targets to fight human diseases and ageing, and have multiple national and international collaborations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks and support all aspects of the research project.
- Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and/or research findings.
- Assist researchers in programming, data analysis and literature review in various research projects.
- Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations or written reports/ scientific manuscripts/literature for publication.
- Contribute to project management, presentations and publications of research work, including supervision of students and occasional laboratory demonstrations where applicable.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.
Key Competencies and Requirements:
- PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experiences in cell culture and molecular experiments
- Prior working experience in the areas of immunology or aging is preferred but not compulsory for those with good academic and research track record.
- Demonstrated good knowledge, skills and expertise in supporting various research activities.
- Equipped with effective organizational and interpersonal communications with excellent written, oral communication and computer skills.
- A team player who is able to prioritize, multi-task and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce.
