Job Description

As a member of the Global Immunology and Immunotoxicology department, you will provide support to various teams, including Safety Assessment and standalone studies. Your key responsibilities will include participating in procedures, conducting sample analysis, and reviewing data in compliance with regulatory guidelines. You will also assist with validation work, instrument metrology, and general laboratory duties.

  • Organize and conduct routine and non-routine sample analysis.
  • Document work and maintain study documentation and laboratory records.
  • Set up, operate, and perform routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
  • Provide input and participate in project meetings, plans, monitors, and guides project work.
  • Critically review and perform QC checks and approval of data.
  • Assist with monitoring quality control trends and troubleshoot alongside SMEs.
  • Inform Study Director, Principal Investigator, and/or management of any problems or deviations affecting data integrity.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research fellow to join the Programme in Translational and Clinical Liver Cancer Research, led by Prof Pierce Chow, tenured Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and NMRC STaR Awardee. Our Program spans the entire spectrum of Liver Cancer scientific investigations from translational research to randomized controlled trials.


A part of our research focuses on deciphering the spatial and single-cell remodeling of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to correlate that to clinical outcome and to response and resistance to therapeutics. The incumbent will utilize various types of patient biosamples and leverage on the insights generated from multi-omics approaches e.g. bulk tumor next-generation sequencing (NGS), cfDNA NGS, single cell RNA-seq and proteomics, CyTOF, 3D spatial transcriptomics and targeted/untargeted metabolomics in the context of a clinical cohort. Experience with interpreting the spatial data in the context of immunology is a requirement. In addition, the incumbent is also expected to perform wet bench research to interrogate and validate the functions of shortlisted targets, as well as investigating their values as biomarkers of therapy response and resistance. Expertise in spatial-omics approaches, cancer models, immunohistochemistry, and translational research is highly desirable.


The candidate will assist the Principal Investigator in conceptualizing and conducting research projects, responsible for the coordination and management of the spatial-omics projects of the multidisciplinary study, and to lead grant applications and manuscript preparation.


The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, working closely with bioinformaticians, clinicians, and researchers involved in ongoing clinical trials. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer biology research, with the potential to directly impact therapeutic strategies for HCC patients.


Your responsibilities will include:

Requirements:

- PhD (or MSc with strong research experience) with relevant experience in Cancer Research, Immunology, or a related field.

- Experience with the following will be essential:

- Molecular biology techniques (including qPCR and Western blot).

- Functional genomics approaches (such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, scRNA-seq, spatial tools).

- Flow cytometry/CyTOF (especially high-parameter flow).

- Immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescent staining.

- Cell culture and in vitro assays (proliferation, cell death, cell cycle, etc).

Position Overview

NATi is seeking a seasoned inspirational leader as the Head of Vaccines & Immunology therapeutic area. This leader will represent NATi on Singapore’s pandemic preparedness taskforces. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of regulation of innate and adaptive immune systems, disease mechanisms across immune disorders, genetic/epigenetic drivers of autoimmune diseases, and the appropriate tools/animal models to launch a pipeline of discovery programs. This leader should have a demonstrated history of building high-performance discovery teams and delivering high quality Candidates for clinical development.

Business Development
+ Expanding product usage within key accounts by identifying and developing new business opportunities, working closely with brand team and other internal stakeholders to develop approach tailored to the HCPs' needs.
+ Ability to establish assigned programs to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the organization's efforts in achieving strategic goals. Develop solutions to problems within budgetary constraints.
Field Work
+ Involved frequent travel to meet with HCPs and stakeholders; check in regularly with key accounts; handle objections or concerns raised by HCPs and provide information and address any issues in a timely and professional manner.
+ Effectively use tools and resources (Veeva CRM and VAE) to enhance business reach to key customers and to improve customer engagement experience.
+ Conduct market intelligence, monitor competitors' strategies, provide analysis and formulate retaliatory strategy and tactics target.
Data Analyzing & Optimizing
+ Ability to generate insights from sales & market data to apply to national / key account specific situation to generate strategy & action for growth or provide solution to foreseeable issues.
+ Ability to leverage sales and marketing data (Infrared/ IMS/ IQVIA data) to inform and enhance account management strategies for key accounts and stakeholders.
+ Utilize historical data and market trends to forecast product demand and sales; to develop a clear, actional and measurable key account sales plan/ tactics including monthly/ quarterly forecast accuracy and ensure implementation of sales tactics within allocated operational budget.
Other responsibilities
+ Submitting sales reports on Veeva Systems in a timely manner and meeting established core Veeva Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the assigned portfolio.
+ Engaging in special projects as required for professional growth and development.
+ Participating in pricing discussion, contract extensions/amendments, forecasting, periodic business review meetings, and other customer service relates issues.
Qualifications
+ A university degree, preferably in science or business.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years' robust sales experience as a hospital representative in the relevant therapeutic area / healthcare industry, preferably with expertise in specialty care products. A proven track record of successful program development and implementation is an added advantage.
+ Must be proficient in verbal and written communication; possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
+ Mature, growth-oriented mindset, confident, analytical, and self-motivated.
+ Must be driven, result-oriented, a team player and demonstrate integrity.
+ Experience in a medical environment, sound judgment, a strong work ethic and the ability to manage and motivate cross functionally is highly desired.

Purpose of the post

The appointee will be a Research Assistant working closely with a multi-disciplinary team including research fellows and PhD students in the field of immunology and cancer.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be actively involved in providing research and admin support for the laboratory research projects. The principle role of the RA will be to closely work with research fellows on a project on animal models of liver cancer and microbial infection to dissect the function of signalling molecules including MAP kinases and phosphatases. The RA will also help to manage the mouse breeding and colony maintenance for the laboratory. He/she will be required to assist with any other laboratory duties as delegated by the PI.

Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences or related fields
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Experience working on animal models of liver cancer
