Civil & Structural Engineer

Job Description & Requirements

1. Prepare technical documents, including checking as appropriate, in accordance with agreed schedules and ensure compliance with code and project requirements
2. Design/check of civil and structural deliverables including:
   1. Building structure
   2. Pipe Rack and Steel structures
   3. Pile/Foundation design for equipment foundation
   4. Drainage/Road/Fence Design
3. To provide technical support to site based engineers during constructionphase of a project
4. Interact and communicate with other discipline and project team members

Roles & Responsibilities.

· To review all Authority's and Contractor's drawings

· To supervise all Civil, Structural and Geotechnical building works, both permanent and temporary

· To review Contractor's design and submission and supervise all works associated with Civil and Structural works

· To ensure that contractor had obtained all necessary permits (NOA, NOC, POWS, TM approval, PTD, PTW, etc) and clearance to work

· To conduct site inspection and ensure that contractor(s) implement corrective actions and timely preventive/mitigation measures whenever necessary

· To ensure proper coordination among among Contractor, QPS, Client and relevant agencies.

· To review formwork structure, formwork support systems prior to concreting works and ensure the formworks erected are PE endorsed with Certificate of Supervision (COS) issued

· To upkeep safety, environmental and health matters while working at a construction site

· To supervise the installation/decommissioning of instrumentation

· To review the monitoring data and ensure the Civil and Structural works do not have huge impact on surrounding structures

· To ensure daily register of Request for Information (RIN) for the works and proper documentation are in-placed during the entire construction/reinstatement phase

· To participate in routine audits by the Authority/Developer, join in all joint inspections and safety site walks

· To prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports as required by the Authority/Developer

Requirements:

· Qualified candidates please submit in your updated resume in MS Word format with your latest RTO cert attached.

· Diploma or Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.

· At least 4 years’ of experience, of which 2 years’ experience in MRT Rail or Road works that includes supervision of temporary and permanent works.

· Possess a valid RTO cert 2025 by JAC of IES/ACES.

· Possess BCSS and/or confined space certificate and/or working at height certificate.

· Candidate to be able to work shift works due to the demands of the project

· Salary range quoted is all in. i.e. inclusive of leave and MC benefits and gratuity/13month

-Interpreting architectural or engineering designs and using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create blueprints and plans

-Working closely with architects, engineers and designers to understand the scope and requirements of a project

-Ensuring the accuracy and precision of drawn plans by adhering to standard drafting techniques and principles

-Updating designs and drawings based on feedback from architects, engineers or construction teams

-Calculating dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials

-Archiving and maintaining a database of drawings and blueprints for future reference

-Complying with safety standards and regulations in the preparation of drawings

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for my own health and safety at the workplace and take reasonable care to create a safe workplace to protect everyone in the organisation
• Responsible for the operations and maintenance of batching plant
• Plan for sufficient manpower and trucks for daily production
• Ensure cost control practices in sludge, W2, diesel, concrete recycling and manpower allocation
• Perform daily checks, maintenance, and arrange necessary repairs for plant equipment
• Receive and ensure accurate pumping of various cement, admixtures and diesel at the batching plant
• Attend coordination meetings and prepare for delivery and concreting arrangement
• Assist with mockup testing and installation of monitoring devices on site to monitor concrete quality
• Monitor concrete conditions (e.g. surface, temperature) and support proper finishing and protection for freshly cast concrete
• Support quality checks, defect identification and repair work at batching plant and customer sites
• Liaise with customers to meet expectations and maintain strong relationships
• Ensure concrete quality by following SOPs during production
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings with staff, workers and drivers before commencing the production
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• ITE NITEC / Diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Entry Level candidates are welcome to apply
• General Welding Certificate with experience in gas cutting
• Experience with working in concrete batching plant /machines maintenance is an advantage
• Singapore Class 3 driving license
• Able to read/ understand and communicate in English
• Willing to work on rotating shift hours

• To assist Project Manager lead site construction team in ensuring smooth execution of work.
• To schedule and plan ahead works so that site problems can be resolved before they have impact of cost, overall schedule and quality.
• To review the equipments / materials requisitions.
• Manage correspondence & documentation with Client/Client' Representative and Subcontractors.
• Day-to-day management of site, including supervising and monitoring the site labourforce and the work of any subcontractors.
• Liaising with authorities, client's representatives, sub-contractors and consultants to ensure smooth execution of works.
• Checking and ensuring all plans and work are as per specifications and drawings.
• Resolving any technical difficulties and problem that may arise on site.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognised Degree by the P.E. Board.
• At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Preferably Manager specialized in Engineering - Civil/Construction/Structural or equivalent.

Position Overview

The Vice President - Civil Engineering, Singapore is responsible for the design, construction and implementation of Data Centers across all regions, ensuring it meets the strict quality and expected performance levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.

Candidate Profile

• With international work exposure, especially in Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore and China is an advantage.
• In-depth understanding of local design standards and regulations.
• Strong network within data center ecosystem with regulatory authorities, business partners, vendors, suppliers, and clients etc. is an advantage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or degree in Civil with contract at least 5 years’ experience (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience in contract management, negotiation, and administration.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in contract management software and tools.

• To design and draft structure drawing.
• Prepare necessary documents and or drawings for submission to Main Contractor, Consultants and PE for review and approval.
• Proficient in Autocad, Sketchup ,Bluebeam.
• Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the Project Quality & Safety Plan, contract requirements, including drawings and specifications.
• Plan and monitor project schedule and control project execution.
• Liaise with team members to ensure compliance to project requirement and accomplish overall project targets according to schedule.
• Meeting for project progress reporting and discussion.
• Manage the quality assurance aspect within the factory and at suppliers / sub-contractors.
• Maintain and enforce ISO quality system throughout the production and quality control operations.
• Conduct Quality system audits to ensure compliance and to identify areas for improvement.
• Able to communicate and liaise well with main contractor and clients / RTO / RE.
• Track the progress and quality of work being performed by competent workers and ensure specifications adhere to approved drawings and specifications.
