Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support evaluations using methodologies such as cost-effectiveness, cost-consequence, and process evaluations.

  • Build and apply modelling tools such as Markov models, microsimulation, and decision analysis frameworks.

Data Analytics & Research Methods

  • Develop and manage data collection processes to capture both quantitative and qualitative indicators across programmes.
  • Apply advanced statistical tools to analyse large-scale healthcare datasets and identify meaningful insights.
  • Conduct qualitative research, including thematic analysis and stakeholder interviews, to uncover implementation barriers and enablers.

Knowledge Sharing & Thought Leadership

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • PhD in Health Economics, Implementation Science, Public Health, or related disciplines preferred. Master's degree holders with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 5–10 years of proven experience in health services research, preferably within healthcare institutions, research centres, or academic environments.
  • Solid background in economic evaluation, healthcare modelling, and outcomes research.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools such as Stata, R, or SAS, and qualitative software like NVivo.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience translating complex findings into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.

The Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a motivated and experienced Research Fellow (RF) or Research Associate (RAssoc) to join our dynamic team in advancing impactful Health Services Research. The successful candidate will support and/or lead research projects focused on improving patient care delivery, evaluating new care models, and informing health policy through rigorous research and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will contribute to various ongoing and new research projects, with responsibilities including (but not limited to):

  • Collaborate with research teams to conceptualise impactful research ideas and develop proposals aligned with strategic priorities
  • Lead and manage research projects from initiation to completion, including study design, data collection, statistical analysis, and dissemination of findings
  • Provide support for grant writing, protocol development, ethics submissions, and progress reporting
  • Conduct and oversee quantitative and/or qualitative data analyses, literature reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses
  • Prepare, write, and review research manuscripts, reports, and presentations for internal sharing, academic publication, and scientific dissemination

Qualifications

Experience

  • Proven experience in planning, managing and implementing healthcare-related research projects, from conception to completion
  • Strong foundation in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies

About the job

The Salvation Army Children & Youth Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to lead the development of mental health services aimed at supporting youth with trauma backgrounds, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other complex psychological needs. The role will involve providing therapeutic support to children and adolescents, setting up mental health frameworks, and supervising a multidisciplinary team.

The Clinical Psychologist will be instrumental in designing evidence-based therapeutic interventions for vulnerable youth in residential and community settings. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with social workers, counsellors, and educators to ensure a trauma-informed approach to care, fostering resilience, emotional regulation, and social development.


Key Responsibilities

1. Service Development and Programme Leadership

  • Lead the development and delivery of psychological services tailored to the needs of individuals and groups within The Salvation Army Children & Youth Group.
  • Develop structured therapeutic frameworks and interventions focusing on trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and resilience.
  • Implement evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), among others, to address the specific needs of the youth population.
  • Collaborate with residential staff and external partners to design holistic and integrated care plans for youth.


2. Direct Clinical Services

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy for children and adolescents with complex trauma histories, emotional regulation difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including diagnostic evaluations, cognitive testing, and behavioural assessments.
  • Develop and monitor individualised treatment plans to guide therapeutic interventions.

3. Supervision and Training

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligibility to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in Singapore is essential.

Monday to Friday - 9.30am to 6.30pm Friday (inclusive 1 hour lunch break)

Job Description

The Department of Surgery, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a motivated and experienced Research Fellow (RF) or Research Associate (RAssoc) to join our dynamic team in advancing impactful Health Services Research. The successful candidate will support and/or lead research projects focused on improving patient care delivery, evaluating new care models, and informing health policy through rigorous research and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will contribute to various ongoing and new research projects, with responsibilities including (but not limited to):

  • Collaborate with research teams to conceptualise impactful research ideas and develop proposals aligned with strategic priorities
  • Lead and manage research projects from initiation to completion, including study design, data collection, statistical analysis, and dissemination of findings
  • Provide support for grant writing, protocol development, ethics submissions, and progress reporting
  • Conduct and oversee quantitative and/or qualitative data analyses, literature reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses
  • Prepare, write, and review research manuscripts, reports, and presentations for internal sharing, academic publication, and scientific dissemination
  • Build and maintain interdisciplinary research collaborations and engage stakeholders including healthcare professionals, policymakers, and patients
  • Mentor and support junior researchers, helping to build research capacity within the team
  • Present research findings at scientific meetings, conferences and seminars
  • Contribute to the operational and administrative aspects of research projects as required by the Principal Investigator
  • Undertake any other related duties as reasonably assigned in support of research and institutional goals

The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their role, as the research team’s scope and capacity evolve.

Qualifications
  • PhD (or PhD near completion) in a relevant field such as Public Health, Nursing, Social Sciences, or Health Services Research
  • Candidates with a Master's degree in a related discipline may be considered for the Research Associate position

Experience

  • Proven experience in planning, managing and implementing healthcare-related research projects, from conception to completion
  • Strong foundation in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies
  • Proficiency with statistical and/or qualitative software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, NVivo)
  • Proven track record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with high attention to detail

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working in multidisciplinary teams
