Summary
The Safety and Security team is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join us in the Asia Pacific region. In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor responsible for the internal consulting and as a trusted advisor for the company's environmental health and safety programs. You will accomplish it through direction, oversight, and policy development for all regulatory environmental health, and safety program development, training, consultation with regional leads, project support, and major safety-related initiatives for risk mitigation for associates, property, and reputation.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in a variety of APAC locations regarding occupational health of our associates.
- Develop, maintain, and support environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures with structured audits and consultation to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and direction to internal stakeholders and associates to evaluate, identify, and reduce the risk of loss through the application of health, safety, and environmental principles and knowledge of laws and regulations.
- Conduct or coordinate reviews of follow-up expectations and activities as appropriate; track corrective items on agreed-upon timelines to closure.
- Guide prevention and risk reduction programs to improve safety and health programs.
- Provide periodic communication to management on the direction and effectiveness of health and safety programs through operational metrics
- Benchmark other company health and safety practices, planning, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent understanding of a variety of geographical environmental health and safety regulatory compliance areas.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and train subject matter experts in safety practices and processes.

Requirements:
- 4-year degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position
- 3+ years of experience working in multicultural companies within various geographical regions.
- Demonstrated experience and familiarity with the APAC regional safety arena.
- Business proficiency (written and spoken) - either in Mandarin (Min. B3 in 'O' levels Chinese or equivalent certifications) to communicate to with local non-English speaking colleagues and business partners in China
